Do we have an official knife thread? I searched and didn’t find one. Post your edcs, knife porn, reviews here. I’ll start by asking if anyone here has used civivi knives? I came across them yesterday and the reviews look positive for the price point.

Rather than plug my own shit right from the get-go, I'd like to recommend the best possible value in any folding knife ever made.

The Opinel No 8 Carbon can be had for 12-16USD. Fantastic little companion.

Great knife, have 2 cause I lost one in the jeep for 6 months and couldn't live without one in my pocket every day.

I have a similar story with my surefire stiletto pro flashlight. I have two because one was left in a car and I could find it and really liked it. The lost one turned up and still works even though it sat through some extreme temperatures for a long time.

All joking aside, my S&W M&P blade is my favorite, think it came with a gun I bought, I carry it daily. Has gotten me out of some hairy situations.

Not my pic, but this has been my EDC for the past year or two. They go on sale once or twice a year for $20. I own 3, but have only taken one out of the box. It's great for opening letters and boxes and cutting strings and small gauge copper wiring, which is about all I need. I had to put some blue locktite on the thumb stud because it kept coming loose. I refuse buy anything but cheap knives, sunglasses, phones, and laptops for everyday use because I'm rough on shit and I misplace things on a semi-regular basis.

My EDC is a Chris Reeve Sebenza, small 21. There are a lot of great folders in the world but Sebenza is the standard that folders are judged against. Some are better, but most are not. But that is what they will be compared to

I love both of my kitchen knives from Dan. I also have one from him that I carry in my bag. The steel is from an old sawmill (I think), and the handle is from Bill the Butcher's ferry. It is badass, IMO.

I have gifted a few knives from him to others, and they all get high praise. I even have one from when he was still working his office job, I believe. The handle is pretty funny, but even back then, the heat treatment was on point, and it holds a great edge. It's a really cool skinning knife.

Here's a pretty pricey zero tolerance edc. Probably too expensive to be daily carrying, but the clip broke off (no idea how, it was there one day and gone the next) and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It feels nice, but I don't think I'll get another zero tolerance. If I want another premium folding knife I'll most likely stick with sog. I've been impressed with them. Like them better than my Benchmades.

These are my most recent acquisitions:
1000005520.jpg
Miyabi Kaizen II 8" chef's knife (top)
Shun Classic 6.5" master utility knife

1000005521.jpg
Dexter Dexreme Max Flex filled knives in 6" and 8". I bought these for fish but use them for trimming beef and pork and they are really really nice without breaking the bank. 20% off from a guy's code off of youtube if anyone cares (landshark, or maybe it's supposed to be in caps?).

another favorite is my truck knife, mora firestarter, she has seen a lot of use over the years. Remember when you could get a dozen moras for next to nothing. Still not bad for 10-20 dollars depending on the model.

Got one in my fishing bag, $12 at the hardware store.
