What I personally find disturbing is Biden saying he is willing to wipe the slate clean.
We know that Meuller has further documentation to prove Trump as a citizen acted as a traitor.
Is biden really going to let him off the hook once he becomes a private citizen again?
I find that deplorable.
He should. For the good of the country. It's very important that any further intervention into this be taken care of with complete and utter neutrality.
Even with a special prosecutor in an independent investigation we have seen how much politics can play into that. And you really shouldn't and can't have a political party even appearing to investigate another political party for political reasons.
So you'd have to find a way to have bipartisan and third-party investigation and charges completely separate from the executive.
There is harm to doing this and there is harm to not doing this.
Setting the record straight and naming and shaming is probably some of the most important. Getting the criminal pound of flesh is likely less important in the grand scheme of things.
Once out of office Trump will likely have to answer for a number of state level charges that are currently going on but have not been brought forward due to him being a sitting president.
Regardless the current president at any time looking backwards and trying to bring charges against the previous opposite party president is terrible optics when trying for the greater good.
