No but again, how do enforce that?

"You can't wrestle the other girls because you wear boys clothes and use a different name at school."
"You can't wrestle girls because you identify as a boy."

Ok but what is the criteria for identifying as a boy?
I think it would be appropriate to leave that up to the transgender community to determine, but ultimately it would be difficult for someone to deny that they identify as a boy when they dress the part and change their name.

As I said earlier, not a perfect system, but probably the most reasonable. It's a brave new world.

Lulz.

Should just say, transgender students compete in the boys division. Could add: if they were born male or have any hormone therapy.
or perhaps he shouldn;t necessarily wrestle until his transition is over.

The rules need not be all encompassing for each individual circumstance. They are guidelines and should be followed when there's no ambiguity, there's ambiguity here..and imo, he doesn't have to wrestle. And before people get all up in arms, even if it was the dream of becoming a beast wrestler at one point, you run into the same problem outside of school.

The real point here is nobody cares about school wrestling, the issue here is that by bending over backwards to everybody you don't prepare them for actual life...and ofcourse I'd have to ask, does a 17year old really know much about his/her sexuality confidently enough to embark on such a procedure.

I don't think that's fair.

If someone wants to wear boys clothes and wants to change their name, I don't think they should be barred from competing with girls on that basis alone. Those are social conventions.

If someone wants to transition from boy to girl using hormones, I think they should be allowed to compete in the boy's division.

But then you have to monitor how much hormones they are getting, its a logistical clusterfuck all so that one person can feel its ok to be different, while undergoing a procedure to change into what's normal for them. They won't be able to do it after, collegiate most likely not (if its being monitored which I'd assume), olympics certainly not. So where's the need, could practice just fine, do they have to compete?

You don't have to monitor hormones. They're already on the banned list. If the person uses hormones, they have to wrestle boys.

Not if she's on hormones.

1) Men are physically stronger.
2) A man trying to be a woman still has a physical advantage.
3) Women trying to be men by taking hormones also have a physical advantage.
So who should cris cyborg fight?

When he's done transitioning, he's so going to get laid by telling girls that he was a state champ in wrestling back in high school.

If she's on steroids, she should be allowed to fight men.

If she's clean, she can fight women.
What about chael without his steroids? With his low count if he grew a tit or 2 could he fight women?

Im just trying to cover some bases here not be a fucker btw.

If you approve someone taking steroids, don't you have to monitor them after to know how much they are taking? Yh its exogenous, but so was Vitor's..i don't see a difference since even a guy taking hormones will shut his own production down. You can say its probably fine, because she'll be doing that most likely to get to a base level, but to know that you'd have to monitor the level.. so I don't get how this would be implemented..will it be based on men just being naturally stronger? having a different frame? then the individual be at a disadvantage because of it anyway.

So again, competing wrestling in school is hardly a right.

If a girl wants to take hormones, no, there is no need to monitor it. Just let her wrestle boys instead.

I do get your point about wrestling not being a right - you could equally say that if you want to wrestle, don't use hormones. But I don't see an issue with letting them compete against boys.

Even if she identifies as a boy taking hormones? :p

Are we just assuming Gabi Garcia won't happen again?
