My guess is the recording cut off because the engine and electrical all died at the same time.

Stupid as shit, though. I don't know what it is about flood waters that makes people want to drive through it when they can't see if the road is washed out, manhole covers are removed, logs or other debris is laying on the road, etc..

Had the exact same reaction. We got flooded out during Ida, and I watched not one, not two, but three morons flood their engines on our street corner where it was around 4 feet deep.
First one was dumb, but predictable. There's always that one. But I can't comprehend the kind of optimism the other two had to think they would make it, seeing how well it went for the other vehicles.
