I woke last night to the sound of thunder
how far off I sat and wondered…..

My second entry - actually, if this is talking about blowing out of town, into the unknown, having fun kicking it in your car (or motorcycle for the brave of us), this is THE song...

What a magnificently punchable face he has, it looks like a catchers mitt.
I looked at him and was immediately confused by my own thoughts, 'curveball or slider?'
If this wasn't so screachingly annoying it'd make the list, but now I'm considering ways to post up on a 3/12 roof at his next concert, somewhere far too dangerous for a security detail.

Got lost here:

The psychology of this is a horizon, ponderance, lone wolf & reflection.
Picture a cross between scenes.
Scene 1, Sarah Connor in Terminator 1 at the end of the movie after stopping at a gas station.
She looks toward the future, mountains, deep thought on a road to a storm.

Contrast scene 2
Tom Cruise in Jerry Macguire after he thought he landed the big deal.

I actually stole all these & categorized, good shit.

The 2 I put for the road were "hey hey what can I do", which is personal & one of my favorites, and one of the first songs I learned how to play, way before I met my crazy ex-wife that perfectly matches the song.

The other was Bob Dylan.

Santana got put in 'party' for the time being.

The psychology of this is a horizon, ponderance, lone wolf & reflection.

Picture driving off into the sunset, or into the dusk.
Invoking emotion, & life journey.

I only have a few so far, mainly because of lack of categorization.

Here's the gist.
Give 30 seconds or so to each to understand the psychology to the best of your ability.
Add freely if you think you get it, and I'll build this ultimate lone-wolf road compilation, the idea being, rough times behind & ahead, but for now, peace, reflection & maybe hope of journey

I have two for ya that might fit...

Old 97s
Where the Road Goes
From downtown Dallas to a cabin on the coast
From the shadow of the towers to the sun in Ohio
From the bottom of a bottle to the palazzo
Who knows where the road goes

From the Blackfoot River to White Sands, New Mexico
From Salt Lake City to my honey in Tupelo
From the barroom floor to the bardo
Who knows where the road goes

Oh you could have died that day
Back when you thought none of this was worth it
When you thought everything was broken
Oh you didn't know yet
Someday you'd watch this big green river flow
Who knows where the road goes

From the Great Divide to the gulf of Mexico
From the underpass to the private bungalow
From the Grand Hotel to the one in Psycho
Who knows where the road goes

I'm so glad you decided to stick around
Look what you found
Look at all the beautiful things you found
Oh you could have died that day
Back when you thought none of this was worth it
When you thought everything was broken
Oh you didn't know yet
Someday you'd watch this big green river flow
Who knows where the road goes

Brett Dennen
See the World
Where you goin' my brown-eyed son?
You used to crawl, but now you run
You started off on a road half-dark
And the river curled into a question mark

Will you sleep on diamond beaches, dear?
And drink from prism streams so clear?
You don't have to be rich to get around
There are mansions growing out of the ground

Days go by
Get out and see the world
Days go by
Get out and see the world with your own eyes

Now, the journey took you far from home
And pushed you out of your comfort zone
There are kids out there with war paint on
And hearts break like crayons

Before you left, the world was small
Now the hills are bleeding like waterfalls
There are a lot of bad things that are buried shallow
And cries for help with no echoes

Days go by
Get out and see the world
Days go by
Get out and see the world with your own eyes

It's hard to see what you're going through
Just knowing can beat up on you
You'll spend some time in the waiting place
And the purest things may leave no trace

Go up the mountain top and shine
I'll reflect it on my long decline
I've gathered sunsets in my prime
Now I'm planting trees I'll never climb
