I don’t think it was intentional. Some folks have better awareness and can pull their shots once the bell rings and others let them fly. It’s an unfortunate outcome but you can’t really argue it. The bell rang, the ref yelled time twice and tried to get in between them but Hector just let it go and suffered for not pulling it.

how could that happen yet this was a dq? keep your fucking hands up and wait for the ref to intervene.
I think I know what they'll say
This ref said to stop and I don't believe the holly fight the ref said stop until after the shots landed

no contest then? that would be my call
well technically if u take the refs TIME yell... as the stoppage of the round then CB doesnt really have to protect himself anymore and the DQ is correct... but the ref needs to actually move his body between them in that situation... so the call is right the ref made that situation possible...

During the fight
Im down with that.

But you don't drop them like he did...not in a prizefight

fine with a no contest...but refs take no responsibility and it is getting old...CB has acted out of a fight before IMO
thank you...that is prizefighting 101

why did CB drop his hands?
UFC has late shots all the time that go un warned or penalized. DID dan immediately make a point that it was late?

Curious

and why not a No contest?

fight was even and one can't continue IMO
Yes he made a point it was late immediately

I agree that situations like this should be a no-contest instead of a DQ win

Now ask him if the ref simply saying stop counts as the ref calling a stoppage to the action
McCarthy says the ref's arm is supposed to get between the fighters. Dude actually had his hand out... but he was pretty far away & Lombard was in the middle of a shot. This could be overturned.

Still not sure how it is a DQ if it is "the refs fault" for not getting in there. Not arguing...just seems the rules are fluid which is bullshit. The bell should end the round...period..that is the only finite thing in the equation. Anyone can yell "time" so that should not be the end to the round, imo

I thought the same thing...he was a bit far for the end of the fight. maybe he didn't hear the clapper..

Nice to hear jon say that

I'm worried that is going to be their out because technically I could see their argument he did do what was called for even though I think he was being a lazy cunt and cost us a great fucking ending

decisions are enough but looking back and claiming wins in scenarios like this just doest' make any sense

AKA hammer Matt didn't beat Jon Jones etc...

just bummed the fight ended like that...dissapointed in Dan M for many reasons...and I do think CB was playing it up again(can't remember other fightt though)
