She'll still win though.

I can't really have an opinion considering I don't live there anymore, but I've always voted Tories. My very Conservative mother this morning told me she was considering opting out but chose against it in favour of May.

Cliff notes on "dementia tax" please?
Tories wanted to make people pay for social care with their own assets which will be sold off to pay for it until the last £100k. Which in effect means, for most people in the country, there would be a health care lottery and if you lost and got an illness which didn't kill you quickly it would eat away at the inheritance you can pass onto your kids.

Obviously, it wouldn't have effected the rich because they can afford it, the people hardest hit would be the ones who own their own home with a value of £200k-£500k. They have since done a U-turn and said there will be a cap, but afaik not said what that cap will be. It's a shitty policy that punishes those unlucky enough to get a long term illness as they grow old, hence the name 'Dementia Tax'.

The kids lunches jibe is because the Tories proposed scrapping school lunches and introducing free breakfasts. Yet, they costed the price of breakfast at 7p per meal. Pretty obvious what they are doing there, a slice of toast and a pat on the head. Disgusting.

Holy crap! Is this one of the items that was buried in their manifesto and was only noticed with a little bit of actual reading?

Yes, it was put in the manifesto. Along with Fox hunting and brining back elephant ivory trade.
