Pretty much, I've seen worse things in real life.Side note...
Is Waiting really the Office Space of food service movies?
Now this is a man who has been batwinged.Pretty much, I've seen worse things in real life.
Stoners doing whippets in walk in? Naw, dude getting a pack of heroin from his girlfriend and grabbing a soup spoon and going to the bathroom. I walked quietly in the bathroom and could hear him trying to light his fix. I just said hey bud, when you are done come out and meet me on the back dock. This was at applebees. This was a week after his brother od'd from a fentanyl patch he put on his tongue at a party after work. The after work party? The olive garden FOH and BOH staff had from across the street.
Sexual flirtation? Naw, there was a challenge to see how many tables managers could bang each other and servers on the dining room tables. This was at Pizza Hut.
Much more stories but the only thing they were wrong on is fucking with peoples food, I have never seen it and if I did they would have been fired immediately.
Can not confirm or denyNow this is a man who has been batwinged.
I told you it's a career!Late 20's guy dropped off a resume for the kitchen. Was scanning through his work history and he listed Social media creator/influencer for the past 5 years as one of his jobs.
Has anyone else seen this?
Yeah but I didn't see mma.tv mod on there so I figured it wasn't you.I told you it's a career!
Years ago we were interviewing new EMTs. Everyone got the same questions to keep it fair.Deer in the headlight look every time.
Years ago we were interviewing new EMTs. Everyone got the same questions to keep it fair.
Asked a chick "where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
It was like we gave her an unsolvable physics question. She locked up and got completely lost in her own head.
We spent two minutes on silence as she slid lower and lower in her chair until she was basically kilroy.
I watched her brain break.
She had never considered this thought and I swear she just couldn't process it.
Well, give us the numbers Don Juan.many tables managers could bang each other and servers on
I never participated, I was engaged but it was a lotWell, give us the numbers Don Juan.
Hes a man of honor
Well they had to be sanitary! Our head of training was involved when she was a store manager. 6 foot blonde smoke show. The guys were bragging for yearsHes a man of honor
He just sniffed the tables after, like a gentleman
People are so socially awkward, lazy, and entitled now. It's unreal. Anyone with an ounce of work ethic, bedside and could wait tables at 5 star restaurants and make an absolute killing right now. Easily make $1000 a shift in tips.Yep, you have to lead them. What are your hobbies, why are you applying here, etc. The labor pool since Covid has fallen off the cliff for small local businesses.
I hired a guy a month ago and he lasted 2 days. I started him on the slowest day possible when it was snowing and he was asking the rest of the kitchen staff if it was always this busy, he wasn't sure if he could handle the pace.
So my staff came and told me this, I sat down with him the next day and asked him straight out do you think you can handle this? Yesterday was probably the slowest day we have had in a year and we are headed into a busy weekend. If you were overwhelmed with yesterday you are going to have a mental breakdown with what is coming in the next two days.
He told me he wasn't sure, he just wasn't used to the pace and such a large menu. I told him you don't have to know the whole menu at this point, you will be trained on one position and then expand your knowledge from there.
He told me he would work the next 2 days and then let me know what he decided.
See ya buddy, I'm not wasting 20 hours of labor for you to tell me you don't want to work here. He was shocked by this.
And this guy had like 10 years experience in a broad range of restaurants. Blew my mind. I have 16 year olds that are laughing and joking all night long while kicking ass on the line and he was overwhelmed.
