The JJ Cale sounds is undeniable. Such atmosphere. Even a Clapton, nor a Lynyrd can make his songs better.

Clapton could at least make a tidy living as a sound alike though

He also at least did an album with JJ Cale and always did acknowledge his debt to him for his post Derek and the Dominoes sound.
I don't believe Dire Straits ever acknowledged that and the influence was over the top obvious...Maybe they did?
