Agree. I was sure all new music was garbage until I started looking at some of these small middle America guys. Band of Heathens was kind of my intro to the Austin music scene & it just expanded from there.

Got to meet Paul Thorn (not a younger guy) back in 06-07 in SLO. Cool guy. Fought Roberto Duran back in the day (used to be ranked 7).

I should explore some of it myself I guess. Around about the mid eighties I started hating popular music and exploring progressively further back in time until I wound up in the Jazz Age.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.
