Sci Fi is probably the only big one. Try to watch everything I can in this category.

I don't game or collect anything and not sure what else is considered nerdy lol.

I work in tech so I am constantly like reading about things related to software development, data, AI, etc but because it's related to work don't really consider that.
I’m pretty similar in a respect to this. Work has me dealing with complex interfaces as well as circuits. There is a crossover (pun intended) in the filter design of a passive filter network for a speaker to electric power systems (ac vs dc differences ignored) but still enjoy the challenge & frustration of the process. Still consider it a nerd hobby though as the cool kids don’t seem to be fucking around with electrical circuit design & combining it with woodworking.

For me, it's cosmology, MTG and classic video games.

As far as MTG, I have this homebrew app on my PSP that is literally the best MTG game I've played other than Magic Online which is dead. Love reading/watching anything about the Universe. Dark energy, time dilation, formation of planets, stars, etc. Classic video games I'm a huge of freak about. I play everything from PS2 and before. NES and Gameboy are my go to's because the games are generally short and easy to pick up. Yeah, I know. Quite the spread of interests but that's what I like.

How bout you guys?
I recently played through Final Fantasy 7 and 10 and got through the superbosses too. Badass games. Now im into JRPG’s as a result. Im playing Trails series

You should try the Suikoden series, especially the first two games for the PS1. Easily the best two JRPG's behind FF7(ever imo). Really inviting and very easy to get into and both have a great story. In both games you the goal is to recruit 108 people. I would say 85% of them are playable. As the game progresses you acquire your own castle. As you recruit more, they move into your castle and automatically build additions to it. You ends up with your own item shop, weapon shop, etc. There are also "Team Up Attacks". So certain characters can team up for a stronger attack than what could produce from two individual attacks. The magic attacks are very similar to FF7. I normally play FF7 and Suikoden 1&2 almost once every year.

Unless you're playing 7 or 10 again, I would put down any game you're playing currently for them. That's how good they are imo.

The ones that delve into Middle Earth's history. Are a lot better. The Silmarillion is a condensed version. Of the history. A lot of great stories.
I purchased that for my brother several years ago. Flipped through it a bit & it looked interesting but never got myself one for some reason.

Sword of Shanarra shits all over LOTR, it's a hill I will die on!
Malazan Book of the Fallen is the greatest fantasy series I've ever read. One of them is probably my single favorite book of all time. Check it out.
