Did you use RTV or a felt gasket when you put your diff back on? My truck had RTV, but I replaced it with a felt gasket and all has been good for 5-6 months.Just drained/filled rear differential and greased the u-joints. Crazy easy. Would have been ~$500 at shop
Ah, yours actually has a drain plug and you just replace the crush washers. On my F-150, you have to remove the entire cover to drain it. At least with the factory cover on it.Neither. For 4runners they use a metal one like this on the bottom row: View attachment 166832
damn, yeah, that is more work than it is for me. I remove the fill plug, then the drain plug. what year? I love the look of those but I have never heard a single good thing regarding maintenance or reliabilityI'm buying a land rover this week. I know it's going to be misery but I can't help myself.
