Wasn’t today, but night before last I got to do an impromptu live hurricane drill of hooking up my generator and firing it up after a transformer blew in my neighborhood. I had planned to run it in the next day or so anyway, but I got to put it under load. It’s a portable so I had to drag that heavy bitch from the carport to the pole and hook it up. It has wheels, but only on one end. Have a handle at the other end to lift/pull it by. This was actually my first live usage of it since getting a professionally installed outlet/breaker put in for it a couple of years ago.

Just drained/filled rear differential and greased the u-joints. Crazy easy. Would have been ~$500 at shop

Did you use RTV or a felt gasket when you put your diff back on? My truck had RTV, but I replaced it with a felt gasket and all has been good for 5-6 months.

Ah, yours actually has a drain plug and you just replace the crush washers. On my F-150, you have to remove the entire cover to drain it. At least with the factory cover on it.

damn, yeah, that is more work than it is for me. I remove the fill plug, then the drain plug. The only real annoyance is using the hand pump, which resembles a soap dispenser, to fill it up.
Next weekend, I will do the power steering, coolant, and transmission fluid too
