I'll give you the short version:

1. He's already beaten the champ in dominating fashion.

2. He is a needle mover.

3. After everything the NSAC did to try to fuck his career up, the least the UFC could do to make up for it is let him get a shot at the gold.

Condit will probably get the next shot but after Condit Nick is the #1 contender.
Especially consider he beat Condit too. Diaz 1, 2, 5.

3. The UFC owes Nick nothing. The NSAC are the ones who screwed up, and the UFC shouldn't feel obligated to right a wrong that they did not cause.
The UFC convinced Diaz to take the plea deal they worked out. I wonder what incentives they offered him to take that deal.

What other choice did he have? Diaz and his brother are money fighters. He can't make money if he can't fight. He also isn't the type of guy to sit 5 years on principal. He had to take that deal.

This means nothing. If you erase that loss, he's still a guy who is on a 2 fight losing streak and he hasn't fought since January 2015, he's fought twice in the last 3 years, and he lost both of those fights.

Once again- huge Diaz fan. One of my top 10 favorite fighters ever.. but a couple of you guys are being unrealistic in my opinion.

He could have taken it to court and had the sentence, and fine, wiped out.

Anderson Silva fight is a NC, and it wasn't like that fight was a blow out, it was a close fight. Which makes it a 1 fight losing streak, to GSP. Last 4 fights against BJ, Condit, GSP, and Anderson Silva(on steroids), slightly different when you put it in context.

And Robbie would beat Nick in the rematch.
