Pictures say it all, right.

Here’s some pics I took of peoples yards when we moved out of the old neighborhood.

And here’s a pic of where we are now (from our porch). Totally different.

Comformist!
Sadly, I can't even argue that. There are times when I wish we had 10 acres in the middle of nowhere, and there are times when I appreciate only having to mow 1/2 acre & walk 50 yards to watch football with my neighbors. Pro's & Con's.

You guys have a garage projector you watch illegal streams on in your front yard, too?

My street/cul-de-sac has about 10 houses. My nextdoor neighbors are black. A british guy lives 2 houses over to one side, a dutch guy lives two house over on the other side. My neighborhood has nigras, at least 3 different kinds of beaners(colombian, dominican from NY, and brazilian), orientals, sand people, catholics, jews, mormons, and at least one married faggot couple.

I live in a fucking Benetton ad.

In some areas you can't help it. When I bought my last house, I don't think there was a single house that I looked at that didn't have an HOA.

There's already enough obligatory government, why volunteer for more? Especially when that organization can fuck you over in regard to your home.

This all stems from the fact that people can't just mind their own business. If you don't like how high your neighbors grass is, then close your blinds and go fuck yourself.

Besides the fact there is no cap on HOA fees, some places they are outpacing property taxes increases.

We're in a gated community.

We have a board of directors, but it's not a typical HOA.

It's what they call a natural community. Meaning, outside of keeping waterways and roadways clear, we let nature do her thing.

No property inspections or anything like that. Nobody breathing down our necks. Hell, I haven't had any actual interactions with the, "HOA" people since I bought the place. I don't even know what they look like.

Nobody reports shit. Christ, I run a forge and bang on steel every single day and not a single complaint in 11 years of doing so.

The main benefit is keeping the riffraff out. We've got our own little police force. They keep the tourists in line, which is great. Elsewhere, they raise hell on the weekends and during summer. The only real negative is they do use speed traps. Our eldest works for them now, so I get the info on where they're setting up and when.

Eventually we'll move to a smaller place. But this works for now.

Wife and I had some property in Lake Wynonah before we moved to Maine, sounded similar. It was a private gated community with two lakes.

First time my wife got a ticket for fishing without a license. Game Wardens rolled up while she was fishing with my nephew. They asked for her license, she said why, I pay to stock the fish in this lake. She found out that all waterways in Pa are owned by the state even if they are in a private community. It was like a 300 dollar fine, she wasn't happy at all.

What happens to all the money these HOA’s make? Banks have to love them. I was in a large HOA in Montana that was taking in hundreds of thousands of dollars a month and all they did was mow a park in the middle of the neighborhood.

This is why people hate game wardens. Zero warnings, attitude, every time lol and some mean mug bastards that will scuff at any given moment. I learned to respect em over the years but I don't go out of my way to hang with their kind.

Good question, remember that condo that collapsed in florida a couple years back, HOA fees for condos there are skyrocketing due to a new law to address maintenance issues that have been ignored for years.

Florida property owners have been struggling to cope with soaring home insurance premiums, and now they're experiencing another rising cost: HOA fees.

However, condo owners are experiencing the most significant jump in HOA fees. What's driving those fees for condo owners is an ugly mesh of inflation, home insurance premiums and a law stemming from the collapse of the Champlain Towers in Surfside, Florida, in June 2021.

In Altamonte Springs, residents of Lakewood Park Condos told WESH 2 that their HOA fees increased nearly 100%. Owners living in the complex's smallest unit, a 649-square-foot condo, now pay $712.93 monthly for their HOA fees.

8400 a year for HOA fees is insane.
