Nice. I started out in an old steamer. 4 units, all ng fired(formerly dual fuel with fuel oil). 2x155mw GE units 1800psi fd/id b&w boilers. 2x360mw Westinghouse 2400psi fd b&w boilers.

Never did get the opportunity to operate the supercritical units at our sister station. They’re all decommissioned now though.

Have a good hitch. If you’re finishing Thursday evening you’re probably starting long change. Have some good days off as well.

these guys are working today... probably making a pretty penny . a squirrel decided to run up the pole and allahu akbar itself on the transformer this morning . my side of the block had power but the other side didnt . they came fairly quick and flipped the corpse down and got it back up and running. it was loud af when she went though . i thought something blew up in the alley .20241225_110705.jpg20241225_110644.jpg20241225_110235.jpg20241225_110029.jpg

Good on you fellas working and keeping things going. I'm off but chipping away on a work project since no one is around to distract me. Getting it done in a quarter of the time than a regular work day.

Most common here, besides balloons, is large birds. They’ll land on one phase & spread their wings creating a phase to phase fault. Generally on distribution level AC at 34kV and below
