I'm always on the fighter's side, but this still rings untrue to me.
If a guy is sooooo obsessed with a rematch that he refuses to fight anyone else, and insists its at 200, insists its at the same weight etc etc...
Why would he suddenly not show up for a pres conference on a Friday because he's too focused on "training" in Timbuktu?????????
..... but insist he show up for a press conference in May - like ... is he not gonna be training in May?
As they say; "Something's rotten inDenmarkIceland".
All of this. I can't vote because I really don't know what great stand he is taking. I can't stand Zuffa's business practices and generally always side with the fighters. However, I'm more concerned about the guys making 50K than if Conor doesn't feel like doing a presser for his 5-10 million per fight. I have no doubt had he knocked Nate out he would have showed to do his strutting and shit talking about how great he is. Also his habit of belittling people tends to provide less empathy for him. I heard when he did it to his competitors it was his act to sell the fights but now that he belittles media, etc. it's pretty lame.I'm always on the fighter's side, but this still rings untrue to me.

Zuffa put "Reasonable amount of promotion" in the contracts so they could subjectively keep stretching the term reasonable and Zuffa is anything but going to respect the term Reasonable.
Yes he signed, but Zuffa and their rubber contracts were going to come to a head eventually. If it has to be Conor so be it.
I'm saying Conor doing this has a byproduct of engaging in that conversation cause it should be had. What is "Reasonable amount of promotion"?I think you're overselling conors actions a bit here.
I recall people touting Jon Jones' actions backing out of a card too. Iirc, no significant impact was made to the organizations modus operandi. Later we saw that Jon was just the diva we thought him to be.
Idk. I just don't see Conor has having as much power as he or a lot of fans think. Especially now that he's lost.
Seems to me that ZUFFA called his bluff because his bluff was pretty stupid.
Funny the things that only you noticewtf did they put mascara on him for that photo?
I hear you ChaosOverkill.
And I like pretty much anything that gives these fighters a bit more power. Especially over the bloodsuckers at ZUFFA.
A "reasonable amount" of promotion is where it gets tricky. I'm not sure how much is required by these dudes. Or how it's doled out.
If they give the fighters the information several weeks out then it seems to me that the fighters should schedule their training around that. It's a part of the game, be it unfornate or not.
If the UFC is telling guys a few days before then it seem very problematic.
Thank you I'm very perceptive.Funny the things that only you notice
Is that the PC term for it nowadays?Thank you I'm very perceptive.
