Carburetors are garbage. It would be nice to have simple models.
In the late 80s I had an S-10.
Fuck all this computer bullshit. Just give me the basics so if/when it breaks I can just fix it.

Not if you know how to service one and keep it clean.Carburetors are garbage.
As someone that does, that's why they're garbage. Who the fuck wants to have to service their fuel system twice a year when the alternative requires no service? Not if you know how to service one and keep it clean.
Because when the alternative breaks it costs a fucking fortune. As someone that does, that's why they're garbage. Who the fuck wants to have to service their fuel system twice a year when the alternative requires no service?
LOL. Yes. At least for most people. Most people are retards that can barely drive when it's sunny and dry.Lol. No.
You truly do live in a terrible place.LOL. Yes. At least for most people. Most people are retards that can barely drive when it's sunny and dry.
You're absolutely right, it's full of transplants from the northeast and midwest. It was great 10-15 years ago.You truly do live in a terrible place.
Other MA, NE drivers tend to be pretty good drivers. I dunno about the MW.You're absolutely right, it's full of transplants from the northeast and midwest. It was great 10-15 years ago.
The people from NY and NJ that have moved down here are terrible drivers. The good drivers must be staying up there. To be fair, the bad drivers are often brown and female.Other MA, NE drivers tend to be pretty good drivers. I dunno about the MW.
Used truck prices are absurd right now. I'd love to buy a truck, since I've gotten back into fishing over the past year. Hauling rods, gear, coolers, etc to and from the lake in a Mazda 6 sucks balls. But I'm not about to spend $35k for a 2019 truck with 60k miles on it and pay 7% interest in the process. I'll do with what I have for now, and hope sanity is restored soon. That's be one way to give a swift kick to the nuts of the auto industry and get prices back down to something resembling sane.
Most people in NYC don't own a car because they have good (not great) public transportation in terms of where they can access, so I'm not surprised they wouldn't be good at driving. I've only been there a couple of times and didn't use a car. I agree regarding NJ though. I try to forget about that place. The rest of NY state is pretty normal. Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Connecticut are normal. The people from NY and NJ that have moved down here are terrible drivers. The good drivers must be staying up there. Assuming similar tires compounds AWD/4WD outperforms FWD for driving in slippery conditions, FWD outperforms RWD. Where most people fuck up is stopping, but that happens because people have an undying passion for following too closely.LOL. Yes. At least for most people. I bought my Tacoma new in 2019 for about $28k. To this day, it has less than 25k miles on it. I work from home and live in a walkable neighborhood. I only use it to leave town. That said Tacomas retain value though which is why I bought a new one. It was cheaper and easier to find what I wanted without over paying. They are dependable trucks (low cost of ownership) that last.Used truck prices are absurd right now. I'd love to buy a truck, since I've gotten back into fishing over the past year. I'd love to buy a Tundra or Tacoma. Gotta wait though, unfortunately.I bought my Tacoma new in 2019 for about $28k. To this day, it has less than 25k miles on it. Good luck to you. They are great trucks.I'd love to buy a Tundra or Tacoma. Gotta wait though, unfortunately.
I agree that full time AWD is probably the best option for most moderate snowy and icy conditions, but I'll take a FWD car over my 4WD F-150 in those same conditions. Physics matter. Taking a FWD car also means I don't have to dick with moving heavy shit in and out of the bed of my truck when it's cold as balls outside. If we're talking deep snow, I'll take the 4WD truck over the FWD car every day, all day long because of the ground clearance.Assuming similar tires compounds AWD/4WD outperforms FWD for driving in slippery conditions, FWD outperforms RWD. If you're struggled in your F-150 after popping it into 4HI, I'm afraid I've got some bad news.
Aren't you in South Carolina?
I lived in NC for three winters. Any time it snowed, the city would be in a rather instant gridlock regardless of the amount of snow, and it would last for hours after it finished snowing and the roads were clear simply from the exhaust of all of the cars on the road. They just don't know how to drive in any snow.I agree that full time AWD is probably the best option for most moderate snowy and icy conditions, but I'll take a FWD car over my 4WD F-150 in those same conditions. I was driving in snow and ice years before I even had a driver's license and do just fine in whatever vehicle I'm in. My only concern when driving in snowy and icy conditions is other drivers. Especially here in Best Carolina.
My ex is in SC. A couple weeks back she told me they were expecting a half inch of snow and that everyone was freaking out. I laughed, and I laughed.I agree that full time AWD is probably the best option for most moderate snowy and icy conditions, but I'll take a FWD car over my 4WD F-150 in those same conditions. They go full retard here at even the prediction of snow. The snow that rolled through a couple weeks ago was supposed to hit on a Friday. The monday before that friday, the bread and milk aisles in the grocery stores were empty. We got barely an inch, My parents neat the coast got about 7inches, which it rare in their part of the state. My ex is in SC. Seriously though. Most people here with 4x4 don't even run winter tires. They're a must on FWD.
7 inches in a single dump is serious business. They go full retard here at even the prediction of snow. The snow that rolled through a couple weeks ago was supposed to hit on a Friday.
