A monthly paycheck would be fantastic. I'll believe it when I see it though.

They're definitely gonna have to implement some rule changes for safety reasons.

More interesting would be what sort of provisions they have if someone gets injured, misses weight, or tests positive.

The amateurs do with some extra gear I think, like shin guards. It changes the fighting, but they have been very positive about the experience they can get in a shorter time that way.

I wonder if they will disallow elbows to help prevent people dropping out from cuts like other tournaments.

I could be wrong, but I am not sure they intend on having them fight often enough for cuts to be an issue. Perhaps you heard something that I didn't though.

On the MMA Beat last week they brought this up and Chuck Mindenhall said "At least they've found a definitive way to fail", which I thought was pretty funny.
