The unfortunate demise of poor mr. George Floyd has opened a national dialogue about the use of force on a suspect but I would like to focus exclusively on the knee ride and its potential to asphyxiate someone
As an MMA guy with a primary background in wrestling I rarely used knee rides in competition but would occasionally apply them at my security job
The plain and simple fact is people are now suggesting that the way the cop had his knee placed on George Floyd was asphyxiating him as in cutting off the air and or blood flow to the brain
Outside of law enforcement it's likely only the Jiu-Jitsu Community understands the Dynamics of a knee ride
I know it's a sensitive subject but it's definitely one worth discussing
