Given that he wasn't the unreasonable one throughout the video. I find it disingenuous that people are casting judgment based upon how he or his gear look.
that's exactly why the jury wasn't allowed to see it
some will say that it should have been shown because it shows what his mind set is, and they may have a good argument

just shows he's kind of an asshole
Being an asshole, bad person, or whatever has no bearing on the shooting. It doesn't make him any more or less guilty or not guilty. Evidence to the case would be previous similar behavior to the incident, his police record, and the facts and video surrounding this shooting. Maybe he owns 10 shirts that say "don't fuck with me," but the case is the case.

i agree with you, just telling you why the picture is being passed around
i agree with them not allowing it in court
i can understand why some people would want it presented though, because it may show evidence of his mindset on the public (which i do not agree with)

Hard to say, probably wouldn't have changed anything.

It is certainly immature and shows bad judgement, then again, so do door and yard signs that say "property protected by glock," or "my rottweiler makes it to the fence in 2.8 seconds. Can you?" It doesn't show people want to shoot people, or people want their dogs to attack people. It is just immature humor that douchebag think is cool or funny. Unfortunately this type of thing gets released to the masses and then everyone wants to light a torch and lynch someone, despite it having nothing to do with anything. As history has shown, many people are overly emotional, and lack rationality.

I haven't watched the video, btw (and wont), but in reading through the thread this engraving stood out to me as wtf is that even mentioned. I guess media is gunna media though. News stations probably had panels and debates over this specifically, lol.

Get your daughter one that says "fear me, not my dad", then wear your two shirts simultaneously.

Sgt. Charles Langley. This is the dick who escalated the situation and then quietly retires lol fucking pussy.

He got the dumbass bitch boy amped up and probably even told the rookie to shoot no questions asked, if they didnt listen to his commands, before they entered the scene.

Generally, cops are of low iq. I avoid them as best as I can. This is very tragic and in the end, God will judge them.

I see procedural citings often in regards to department training.
The whole system needs an overhaul, not just departments. They all adopt from others, similar policies & training.
The American Justice system is fucked from top to bottom.
The only thing they got right(which SHOULD be the most important part) is the written laws and ideals.
Implementing at all levels seems too dificult a challenge, clearly.

So as I understand this whole thing:

Guy has a BB gun in a hotel room. People see it and call the cops.
Cops show up and dickhead cop plays Simon Says.
Guy is confused and terrified. As he crawls towards the cops, his pants come loose.
Guy tries to pull up his pants, other cop thinks he's reaching for a weapon and shoots him.
Guy was unarmed.

Very tragic. I understand the cop getting Not Guilty. Seems like the procedures were a mess but I'm not a cop. Surely, tell the guy to lay down with his hands on his head and not move. Then walk over and cuff him or whatever you need to do.

Indicates a predetermined will to shoot.
No it doesnt. What is your basis in the court of law? Swat members from time
to time have skulls or crossbones on their helmets, perhaps even tattoos of "death", so you somehow think this pertains to the case? Give me your best answer, and think
it through.

He wasn't military or swat. He was a city police officer with two years experience, and he was fired for the engraving. The content of the engraving shows a total disregard for justice, and the act of modifying the rifle without permission demonstrates an intent to circumvent SOP. Both of those things are perfectly relevant to the case of this kid unnecessarily dying.

I wouldn't go as far, but we do have incompetent cops out there, unfit cops. You see these cases and you see the cops losing control over the situation, often escalating the situation with sometimes fatal results. It's a sad thing really, and I understand why it angers people.

I had a psychotic patient once. Off the chain in a manic phase. Constant ramblings and unexplained rage. Gave him meds and when he started slowing down the things he said.....his story whether real or imagined was scary as fuck.
Basically he was military and fast tracked to special forces. Top of his class on everything. Finally gets shipped off to war and his chance to shine. Something goes wrong (won't tell that part) and he gets shipped home and discharged. He was distraught that he was so good at what he did and never got to use his skills to defend his country. It wasn't long as the meds kicked in that the defending his country part was dropped. He basically was an expert trained to kill and and never got a chance to do it. The need was still strong.

My point, he was a functioning citizen for years after coming home. No one knew he was dreaming of his chance to kill. They are definitely out there. And I'd say trying to be a cop would appeal to these types.

Not following sop doesn't make someone murderer and in no galaxy is a 26 year old father a "kid". Let's keep some objectivity here.

Not following SOP is a fact relevant to his mindset. 26 is young, and by no means does fathering a child automatically mature your thought process.

Edit: You meant the guy who is dead isn't a kid. He's a kid relative to me, although the age of the deceased is irrelevant to the facts of the case.
