Pitbull attacks are unlike other attacks, they come without signs of aggressiveness, it's all just a snap. Something triggers that dog and it goes off like a bomb, a time-bomb.
This is incorrect, and if you believe it it clouds all of your other judgments on the issue. Pitbull's are definitely a dog that should only have a specific type of owner, but they aren't some rubik's cube, they also aren't anywhere near the most dangerous dog. Shit, they aren't even the best for dog fighting.

Come on, don't make me ask

Japanese Tosa (Japanese Mastiff) 24 inches at the shoulder, weigh up to 200 lbs, and can pull 3000lbs. Here's a quote from "yourpurebredpuppy.com"

I would never keep a Tosa with another dog of the same sex. Frankly, I wouldn't keep one with another dog at all. No cats, either. Tosas can display predatory behavior toward cats. And small dogs. Any animal that runs, really. This is not a dog for a farm with livestock.

I don't think you can peg 1 dog as being the top dog here but all those mastiff type dogs with the big wide head and jowels are always trouble when they attack people because they have very high psi bite power. Especially if they are from places where they are not being bred to be pets like Russia, Japan, China, Etc. To have good natured traits but rather those people want their dog to be vicious to protect their property and animals. Trouble when you then bring a dog like that to live among people as a housepet.
