Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) on Tuesday ripped reports that the Pentagon is organizing a military parade at President Trump’s direction, comparing the president to French leader Napoleon Bonaparte.
"I was stunned by it to be quite honest. I mean, we have a Napoleon in the making here. And I believe that we have so many issues around the world in terms of preparing for wars that are ongoing, and wars that may be in the offing because of what's happening in North Korea, that I would say that it's really a waste of money," Speier told CNN's Anderson Cooper.
"I think everyone should be offended by his need to always be showing. He's truly Napoleon-like," she added, referring to Bonaparte, who led France's military in the French Revolution before becoming the country's emperor.

Lol at Trump campaigning on issues. You can say you think Hillary is the scum of the earth and have a strong faith that Trumpito is going to brings horns of plenty and great justice to the world all you want, but when you say Trump campaigned on issues, you're wildin.
Issues=subjects of concern to the electorate tied to direct and specific policy proposals that will enable them to come to fruition. Donnie boy still has yet to come out substantively with any statements on issues besides a wall.
I disagreed a bit. He talked about jobs leaving the country, poor wages, bad healthcare etc. he said all the right things but as we all know all is easier said than done. Hillary is the scum of the earth no doubt about that.

Those are complaints not issue framing. Also, they don't align with reality. He had nl plan for preventing job departures overseas aside from "we're gonna stop that," but he didn't specify how, outside of strong language and taking show meetings with executives. In fact, since he's been President, ~12,000 jobs have left the country. He now boasts that employment and wages are trending upward thanks to him, but it's difficult to see what he said he'd do that he did aside from following the longstanding GOP line of tax cuts. He also had no plan for changing healthcare besides "not Obamacare," which ended up not working out because, ad we saw, there was no plan to replace it.
I think the thing with Trump is he tapped into what some people feel, whether there was validity to it or not. He certainly was better at that than Hillary. But based on what we've seen, he was an empty shirt. A rich dude just as out of touch as the other rich people he criticized. If you watched his policy statements during the campaign, whether in interviews or debates, he just sort of rambled through his ideas, often changed the subject, then acted like he was being persecuted when pressed for specifics. In some ways, Obama shares some of the blame because who tf knew what hope and change meant in 2008? It normalized the idea that you can make sweeping rhetorical claims with limited substance and sail to the White House.
Saw this a few months ago, the guy's annoying but the video's great. It's not Wellington, had never heard of this guy, Sir Sidney Smith, seems like a badass

Russia is already trying to meddle in this year's midterm congressional elections, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.
In an interview with Fox News, the former Exxon Mobil CEO casted doubt on whether the U.S. could prevent Russia from causing damage again.
"I don't know that I would say we are better prepared, because the Russians will adapt as well," Tillerson said in the Tuesday night interview. "The point is, if it's their intention to interfere, they are going to find ways to do that."

I really feel that Russia bought up all of Trump's debt for him in exchange for trying to install him as president, and now have him over a barrel. How else would you explain why he hasn't imposed the russian sanctions that a bi-partisan congress voted overwhelmingly to impose and why won't he show his tax returns. I think the deepstate conspiracy theorists are ignoring the most obvious scenario.
