I don’t know about a DQ but the ref should have done his damn job

I vote "no."

Didn't look like it landed to me . It touched on the way back down but it doesnt seem significant.

No, if anything upon appeal and review it would get overturned to a NC due to illegal strikes. But most likely if it were appealed, it would be shut down with the commission saying "referee discretion".

No replay in Florida
Fight should have been halted though. Doesn’t matter if it lands flush or not

I was waiting for this thread and honestly I’m not sure. I don’t think it made a significant change to the fight but I’m not Emmett so I can’t say for sure.

Would love to see it again though.

Whether people think that the knee landed or not is one thing. But The amount of people on twitter that have no idea when a fighter is grounded is crazy.

Watching live it looked completely illegal but on replay it does not look as bad. Tough call either way.
Stephens had him finished and should never have thrown the knee. He was clearly down.

Seems people need to lead the difference between "didn't land" and "grazed" (which is illegal) on the way up,
and landed (on top of the head) on the way down.

No,
It should have been stopped and ref made sure the fighter was ok to continue but it should not have been a dq unless Emmet could not continue
Agree but that's not possible now. So what should happen? Just call it good?

No replay on fight night to review if illegal shots were landed etc. Appeals through the commission use all available information including replay.

I would call it a knock out win for Stephens if I was reviewing because the ref did not stop it and did not warn for any illegal strikes
I'm not saying that they were not illegal, just that the ref decided they were not illegal

My gut says Mirg needs to stop it as soon as somebody is throwing knee to a downed if even close...and that was after a few shots to back of head that he should have been wondering about......mirg never steps up

that said I do think jeremy likely wins tonight even with hammers to back of head and a knee/shin to downed, but that is really beside the point

I say ref fucked up huge and let jeremy get away with way too much.
