Just about to read this but I have to say my first reaction watching yestetday was, how in the fuck do you go into this situation with a fucking horrible defence team when you have the money jon should have
That was horrible on their part to allow him to admit/confess all that he did
I hope he machida'd the lawyer after this shit
His defense team was just unfathomable. In the first place, a simple google search could have shown them that there IS precedent for Turinabol-spiked supplements, as this abstract shows (the bold part is the chemical name for oral Turinabol):
"Since 1999 several groups have analyzed nutritional supplements with mass spectrometric methods (GC/MS, LC/MS/MS) for contaminations and adulterations with doping substances. These investigations showed that nutritional supplements contained prohibited stimulants as ephedrines, caffeine, methylenedioxymetamphetamie and sibutramine, which were not declared on the labels. An international study performed in 2001 and 2002 on 634 nutritional supplements that were purchased in 13 different countries showed that about 15% of the nonhormonal nutritional supplements were contaminated with anabolic-androgenic steroids (mainly prohormones). Since 2002, also products intentionally faked with high amounts of ‘classic’ anabolic steroids such as metandienone, stanozolol, boldenone,
dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone, oxandrolone etc. have been detected on the nutritional supplement market. These anabolic steroids were not declared on the labels either. The sources of these anabolic steroids are probably Chinese pharmaceutical companies, which sell bulk material of anabolic steroids. In 2005 vitamin C, multivitamin and magnesium tablets were confiscated, which contained cross-contaminations of stanozolol and metandienone. Since 2002 new ‘designer’ steroids such as prostanozol, methasterone, androstatrienedione etc. have been offered on the nutritional supplement market. In the near future also cross-contaminations with these steroids are expected. Recently a nutritional supplement for weight loss was found to contain the β2-agonist clenbuterol. The application of such nutritional supplements is connected with a high risk of inadvertent doping cases and a health risk. For the detection of new ‘designer’ steroids in nutritional supplements, mass spectrometric strategies (GC/MS, LC/MS/MS) are presented. "

I'm not saying this would have cleared Jon, much less that I think he's innocent, but Jesus fucking Christ. Did his attorneys research anything at all? Did they prepare him whatsoever? They couldn't have worked more than 10 minutes on his case.
Here's devil's advocate though. People like Jon are nightmares for clients, because they lie to their attorneys too. I knew someone remarkably like Jon (without all the success, but he was very skilled in a number of things, including fighting---an entertaining guy, but irresponsible with a very underachieving life), and he asked me for help on a child custody case. I'm not an attorney, but I consulted with someone I trust who is one, and got a recommendation for him. This attorney bailed on his case very quickly (not officially, but in spirit) because he simply could not keep his story straight. So she just took his money and flopped in court. She found an idiot liar for a client and rather than have her time wasted, she got her retainer fee, showed up a couple of times in court, lost the case (it was unwinnable because her client made it so) and then went on her way.
I suspect something similar is going on here with Jon's lawyers. They have a delusional playboy narcissist for a client, a person so deep in lies and twisted justifications he can't remember how many layers there are, and it's quite possible they don't feel like playing along, except to take his money.
