Some reaction to Trump's tweet about saving the Chinese smartphone company has been ridiculous, accusing him of 'U-Turns' and snide remarks about him 'working to save Chinese jobs'.
Trump does have a strategy for China and a lot of it is just an aggressive continuation of what Obama administration was already starting to do (what do you think Obama's 'pivot to Asia' meant?)
Trump realizes that there are bigger fish to fry and that killing off entire large companies can wreck his overall gameplan - and stepping in to help shows he will negotiate.
He does plenty of stupid shit. It's hard to point that out when you have a bunch of numbnuts calling some actual smart moves stupid.

A pro soccer team in Israel wants to rename itself in Trump’s honor
On Sunday, Beitar Jerusalem, one of the largest soccer teams in the Israel Football Association, announced in a statement that it wants to rename itself Beitar “Trump” Jerusalem. But the club will first need to get approval from the Israel Football Association, and then it will have to worry about the fact that Trump’s name is trademarked in Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The announcement came on the eve of the formal opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem on Monday. Trump said in December he was relocating the embassy from Tel Aviv, keeping a campaign promise to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
