I think it’s an interesting idea.

It would obviously lead to more exciting final rounds as guys down on the cards would chase finishes. It would also save fighters from getting blindsided by decisions. They find out after the 1st round if their game plan/style is being viewed favourably by the judges and can make adjustments if needed.

I think a lot of dull fights (Wonderboy I’m looking at you) are caused by guys thinking they are winning fights when they are not and coasting. Imagine that Bisping/Silva fight if Silva knew he was losing that decision. I’m also thinking of the Masvidal/Iaquinta fight where Masvidal was clearly the more skilled fighter but he lost a decision because he thought he was winning the fight and took his foot off the gas.

MMA is a subjective sport. You are never going to have uniform judging. The best way to protect fighters from bad/unexpected judging is to let them make adjustments during the fight according to how the particular judges are scoring.

I think it would also lead to more disciplined judging.

Revolutionary.
Whoever thought of that should be getting paid.

by the final round of a 5-round fight you might have some judges already fully lynched, strung up by the neck with their bellies cut open and gizzards on display

Remember that Caraway fight where miesha tricked him into thinking he was up on the cards? Haha

Other sports have the participants knowing the score ... I agree
Plus the crowd will be more invested

It should be trialled before implemented fully. Sounds great in theory but might be unforseen problems, like judges influenced when crowds boo their scores.
If the scores went up without any names being attributed to the scores until after the fight were over then that shouldn't be much of a problem. But there is a problem that there is definitely corruption in sports and that includes mma, would the corrupt "allow" this to enter into mma?

anyone going to mention the flipside? (fighters coasting after realising they are ahead on the scorecards)

Yeah let's extend the break between rounds to 10 minutes so that the team can make any necessary changes to their game plan while we're at it
