Note low road traffic accidents -- stop saying we are bad drivers!

Women born in South Korea in 2030 are projected to be the first in the world to have an average life expectancy of above 90, a new study has found.

In the United States, however, life expectancy is set to rise more slowly. This is due to a combination of factors including obesity, high maternal and infant mortality rates, unequal access to healthcare and relatively high homicide rates.

By 2030 lifespans at birth for American men will be comparable to those of Czech men (under 80) and American women will have life expectancy similar to those in Croatia and Mexico (under 85).

South Korean women will soon outlive us all. What's their secret?

loves me some Korean food. BUT. This one Korean shop owner who happened to have a trinket store next to this place where me and my buds used to shoot pool was your classic bullyish aggressive Korean woman who ran a tight ship. She was always being rude and mean to me and my buds. Anyway I was on a plane with her down to Anchorage, Ak. from Barrow, Ak. The plane stopped for 15 minutes in Fairbanks to pick up passengers. I stepped off the plane for a quick smoke as did the nasty shop owner. She went to the bathroom and I went into the TSA line to board up. I casually mentioned to the young hooah TSA gentleman that a very suspicious looking long haired man in a trench coat handed the lady a suspicious-looking package. Our plane was delayed for nearly an hour. When she finally got back on the plane she screamed something like, "IT WAS YOU!!!! YOU LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She made a bee-line towards me with the intent on strangling me. She jumped over a couple airline seats like Troy Polamalu trying to block a field goal. This bitch was pissed!!! As she screamed and lunged at me I kinda feinted to my right into the poor guy sitting in the window seat. SHE MISSED! The flight attendants pulled her off of me. I looked around at everybody (who was wondering WTF!) and said calmly, "This WOMAN IS CRAZY!" end of story. My buds had a laugh when I told them.

I heard in about few 100 years, the Korean race might extinct.

looking at how the society is in Korea

-population aging
-decreased birth rate
-S.Korean women increasingly less inclined to marry

according to some simulation, South Korea's current population of 50.2million could fall to 20million by the end of the century.

I'm Korean who's an American citizen so it don't really matter to me but this shit is crazy. Some cities will turn into ghost towns in Korea

I understand yours and my parents probably got one of the shittiest ends of the deal, (born into war-torn country) but LOL it's not because they don't want to be a slave to man, get over that shit!! (are you even aware the last Korean President was a woman?)

I'm sure you're aware of how Korean society plants these ideas, ever since at a young age, only way to be successful in life is to go to college and work for some corporation, or become Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, etc...

12 year old Korean kids schedules are like 7am go to school til 4pm, then go to some extra curriculum activity usually consisting of (playing instruments or some special skill), then go to after school study program, learn English, Chinese, Japanese, study more until like 10pm, then get to come home and probably study more, sleep few hours and do it over next day is the reason for highest suicide rate among teens out of any first world country.

Then you're lucky if you get accepted to college, if not, you gotta do 재수 (repetitive study of college exam) until you make it. If you're male and turned 19, you gotta drop everything and go do your mandatory military service. Then say, you made it all the way, and graduated college and got hired at some corporate job.

Your life is over. All of my friends, cousins, people that I know who works in Korea, male or female, all are prisoners of their job. Everyone on salary pay but work your ass off without overtime and if you lack in putting your time in, next hungry guy/gal in line is going to take your place so there's no choice but to work. In the midst of this harsh lifestyle, there's no time for dating, relationships, marriage, or even thinking about having kids.

Don't you think it's weird when you watch Kpop culture, so many Koreans are super talented but they never come up with anything original. That's because Koreans value skills and technique over creativity and thinking outside of the box.

This institutionalized lifestyle from birth to death is the reason why they don't think too highly of getting married or having kids in the first place. What the fuck is the point? Just going to work til you die...

Is that why the focus on longevity? Is that what you're hoping to do with your 90 years? Keep hunting firsts?
