I don't think he should've been ejected for that. same reasoning as the "headbutt". IMO it would've been a big interference and exaggeration. But both plays are similar with Layun's "stomp" being even lighter.

As for the rules, they are all subject to interpretation and a light headbutt from close range that may have been a push and may have hit the chest or the chin falls right into the spectrum where each person will have their own view about it. The side Brazil is on, has all the best teams basically. Even before Spain went out the other side of the bracket was way way weaker.
How do you have Spain and England as the only top teams on one side, yet you got Brazil France Argentina Uraguay Belgium all on the other side.
So now what happens is Argentina has to play France in the round of 16, that could easily be a world cup final 4 or final, meanwhile you got Croatia and Denmark playing i the same round of 16, Russia is a pretty weak team to get to the final 8. You also have Brazil Belgium quarterfinal when that should have been set up to be a world cup final 2.
Unreal, to me the best 4 teams are Brazil France Belgium and Uraguay all on the same side.
Every one of these teams is better than England, arguably the best team on the other side, or maybe could be Croatia.

The seeding is random, determined by a draw; also if your favorite Argentina had advanced as #1 seed for their group it would be on the "weaker" side in place of Croatia. Argentina was one of the worst teams in this tournament though.

As for the winner, I got Brazil, just like I picked before any of these games even started. I know, not exactly picking a long shot underdog lol, but Brazil is just a level above everyone. They are the deepest team, they have 2 of the top 10 players in the world, Neymar and Coutino, even wtih no Dani Alves and Marcelo missing some games their defense is playing so great that their goalie has had to just 7 saves the entire world cup so far. The creativity, the passing, there is just no one else like them.
The teams that have the best shot to beat Brazil would be Belgium, their offense is amazing, and France who is the most talented team in the World aside from Brazil. However will Belgium be able to have enough ball possesion and get enough balls into Lukaku and Eden? France has insane talent, but they are very inconsistent and very young, and not sure if they have played with each other enough.

Argentina did not play at their usual level this world cup but they where not one of the worst teams, are you fucking kidding me? The game they lost to Croatia was because their goalie play was horrible and they just had to go all attack after being down 1 to 0 and shit happens.
If Argentina was so bad they would not have had such a battle against France who is the most talented team in the world perhaps not named Brazil. They where right there wtih France ,up to 2 to 1, then down 3 to 2, and it was closer then the 4 to 2 score because you know full well in soccer you have no choice but to go all attack when you are down late in a knockout game, just like many teams that are losing 1 to 0 go down 2 to 0 late in the game because they have to risk and go go go try to score a goal.
For whatever reason, the Brazil side ended up super stacked due to some teams underachieving, so maybe it was not Fifa's fault, but you are silly as fuck if you can't see that the Brazil side is way deeper and stronger than the other side of the bracket smartalec.
