Does anyone know when Jones is supposed to have his hearing with USADA? Things in the media and on his social platforms seem to indicate that he is ramping up for a return. Helwani reported that the UFC is crossing their fingers to have him on the MSG card, which seems like wishful thinking to an enormous extent.

With all due respect, Helwani is an idiot.

For Jones to fight at MSG would mean him only getting a 1 year suspension. That is half of what Frank Mir got for the same substance, despite it being his second offence...

The only way that could happen (a 75% reduction in penalty) is if they found a non-high-risk supplement contaminated with Turinabol.

We already know that Jones had every single supplement he took (and another ten on top) and nothing was found, which is not surprising. In the entire history of a USADA there is not a single non-high-risk supplement ever found contaminated with turinabol.

If Jones went to arbitration and got 1 year wouldn't surprise me to see both USADA and WADA appeal it to CAS

Helwani reported a rumor from inside the UFC. It wasn't his idea. He very rarely gets fight stuff, even rumors, wrong. I can't think of an example but I am sure it has happened.

That's why I called it wishful thinking. I'd just like to know when the hearing is scheduled.

we dont even know if its going to arbitration hearing. it may not.

equally, the hearing may have already happened and we may just be waiting on the arbitrators decision (they have about 30 days from date of hearing to provide their "reasoned decision")


Helwani has been going round saying he thinks Jones will only get 1 year.. he doesnt have a clue when it comes to the anti doping program to be honest..

Isn't an arbitration hearing something that comes after a USADA hearing? He had his CSAC hearing and they are deferring to USADA in terms of a suspension. I was under the impression that his next meeting is with USADA. I could be misinterpreting this, but USADA hearings and their findings are typically public pretty soon after it happens. As of now, he has no official suspension timetable to appeal.

They're secretly setting up a card.

Brock v JBJ, GSP v Conor, DC v Cain, Ngannou v Hunt, and Ortega v Khabib. They'll have it at Cowboys Stadium and they're going to tell Novitzky to take a walk. It will set the world's indoor attendance record and do 9 million ppv buys. There are also rumors that it will be Trump doing the post fight title presentations rather than Dana.

Same, and with Jones' recent change in social media activity, it makes me feel like he is confident that he won't get the 4 years.

Helwani's "scoops" have been far & few between since UFC 200 (timing is obvious that Dana found the mole & axed him*)
He was never an investigative "journalist". He is friendly with fighters so gets the jump on fight announcement.
but when he goes outside that wheelhouse, he is not as good.

Is the USADA hearing even public? I thought it was private, and it was up to the fighter to announce their punishment (if they so desired).

Cormier's camp is talking like Jones is an afterthought. They should be hyping the prospect of DC/Bones III. If he gets cleared you fight for your legacy. If he doesn't you say you would have. Meanwhile Jones tweeting like he has a chance to return sooner than thought. DC needs to let go of this whole fighting until age 40 and no more hard stance. His best bet is to time a way to fight Brock and then Jones and then ride out. Win or lose against Jones, he'd be revered forever.

fuck that . DC is the man right now. he should tell jones he needs to work his way back up and earn a title shot. make him prove hye can fight clean .make him ju7mp thru some hoops .crush his ego then retire right when jones thinks he has a shot at the belt.
