I think John is mostly spot on, but then he shills a little for the UFC. What he said about Nate alienating the fans is the truth tho.

I've never been a Diaz fan so I wouldn't know. I always found them annoying... are they really getting more annoying?

I usually don’t mind John but he is most definitely a shill for the UFC. Rarely, if ever, mentions anything outside of the UFC sphere and while he’s been mildly critical of some things he almost always sided with them one way or another.

But now that’s he’s saying it people will start agreeing when they didn’t think of it before so IMO it’s a tactic to make fans start turning on him. Everyone is going on rumors and tweets. Let Nate play his games. We can all bitch about him should he not make the walk but I’m not buying anymore of this MMA media BS.

First question at every press conference. Seriously. Clearly his employer (MMAJunkie/USA Today) is paying something for that privilege.

So yeah, of course the guy is a UFC shill. I'm surprised anyone still takes him seriously.

He was being sued by former management after his last fight. The situation was done in February...according to what I read somewhere online so there's that as well...

That wouldn't interfere with him fighting again anyway unless he was worried he would have to pay based his former manager for a current fight as well. But he could just as easily "renegotiate" a new deal that wouldn't involve that manager which would reduce any liability going forward.

Doesn't want Junkie to lose their credentials like Sherdog did.

His lawyers probably advised him against it until this shit was settled. That’s all conjecture but I can totally see that happening. Especially if that former management can claim in any subsequent fights etc. Anyway, hopefully he finally fights this time around. He’s such an awesome dude (IRL and in the cage).

Typically, when people criticize the Diaz brothers they operate in a fantasy world where everyone should be held to the exact same standards.

Nate and Nick don't apply to the rules to which most MMA fighters are held. Why? Because they've fuckin earned it, and aside from their elite skills, their unique outlook is the reason they are so beloved.

They owe the fans nothing. They've given their lives and brain cells for our entertainment (even if our entertainment isn't their ultimate goal), and they fight in a way that protects neither of those things they've given. The UFC did try to bury Nate Diaz. They also underpaid Nate Diaz, probably because Dana didn't understand the appeal because he applies his own biases to what he thinks the fans want, and he wanted to bury guys that he knew he couldn't control. That's why Dana and the Diaz brothers have clashed- Dana loves people who are company men and who accept the assessment that the UFC makes of them. The Diaz brothers realize their worth, and see that the UFC wants to downplay their worth, so they go out and set their own bar. They want to dictate how important and skilled they are, and they don't give a shit about what the UFC thinks. It's worked pretty well, too. If they don't want to fight, nobody can be mad at them. If they want to fight, we should welcome them with open arms and hope Mr. Thumbhead has to relent and make them filthy rich.

Josh Gross was responsible for that, not Jeff Sherwood.
I know it happened twice.

Their credentials we're taken away over the whole TUF winner thing, and then later reinstated and taken away a second time.

The first time may have been justified. The second time was just DW being the petty fuck that he is.

all of the mma media are a bunch of fucking nerds.100% junkie john has a fedora at home.look at them and listen to the softball questions they ask at the pressers.these are the people who determine the rankings too.this is part of why mma will never be a real sport.the media is afraid to ask questions that upset dana. they tow the company line.
