Just when I thought athletes couldnt be more self entitled and out of touch with who actually determines how much they get paid, one of them opens their mouth.

if you’re not a government worker on any level you DO NOT have the right to say a government worker sucks

if you’re not a manager on any level you DO NOT have the right to say a boss sucks

if you’re not a kitchen worker on any level you DO NOT have the right to say a restaurant sucks

Etc.

He's right. You keyboard warriors have no right to criticize until you've actually been successful at a professional level.

If they are a pro athlete = they do not suck

But public figures get criticized

MMA related, its silly to think a fighter that was in Bellator or UFC "sucks".
But I think when fans use that, they mean in relation to be a world champ
at least I hope so
Yeah, plus there are countless reasons why a professional athlete can suck, and they certainly aren’t limited to athletic prowess or accomplishments.

Well the oldest and best defence for that is if you go out to dinner and your food is awful, do you not get to criticize the restaurant unless you are a chef? If you bring your car in to get fixed, and you pick it up and it's still fucked, do you not get to criticize unless you are a mechanic?

I get Rashad's sentiment - being a fighter is tough and having some fan who has never ran a mile in his life criticize you must be infuriating.

But if you are a fighter, there are certain expectations of you. You don't get judged according to the common man. Like the chef and the mechanic, you get judged by your peers. It doesn't matter if I can't cook better than the chef, if you call yourself a chef and I'm paying you to cook for me, you're expected to do a good job.

If a fighter is not "doing his job" right, he is subject to criticism like anyone else. But of course a real fan should be respectful in their criticism. Saying a guy "sucks" is disrespectful, unless you're talking about a guy like Bob Sapp, who really fucking sucks.

...or Joe Son/Greg Hardy/War Machine for being dispicable humans; or Paul Harris for holding joint locks far beyond the tap; or Ronda for turning her back on the fans who made her; or Jon Jones for tarnishing the sport and his/DC’s legacy, and robbing us of a number of his prime years; or umpteen other people/reasons beyond fighting that justify the term “suck.”

I’m giving Rashad the benefit where he means just on their skill in whatever sport they compete in. When Mayhem Miller is in a weird stand off with police, think we can say that they are being psychopaths.

Though, would find it humorous if when War Machine beat up his porn star girlfriend if Evans got on the fans about it. “You think its that easy? Sure talk shit, lets see you keep someone trapped at your house!”

Or go with the great Weight Cuttin’ Hendricks logic of “I will check the status of your significant others...and will see how far you get in a week.” Despite us having way more than a week to keep our girlfriends tied up

I’m sorry, that got dark. But twas it not in darkness we discovered stars? Thanks Shad, I turn into a shit philospher when I can’t say a jab sucks.
