Anyone who actually watched that circus should realize how terrifying it would be if the Dems got control.

I'm a Libertarian and I will vote for whoever best shares my beliefs regardless of party, but that was an embarrassment and did not paint a very pretty picture for the Dems.

These midterms are VERY important.
Just out of curiosity, did you watch the Affordable Care Act hearings in Obama's first term or the Merrick Garland discussion during his second?

No.

She chose not to share them.

Big difference.

This who Kavanaugh thing has me wondering... Why didnt anyone question the accusations made by hundreds of men who stated priests sexually assaulted them 30+ years ago? Why did they get a pass on not going public decades ago?
weird. it's like there's different levels of accountability and power dynamics when you're talking about religious leaders that the community holds above reproach assaulting children who are easily manipulated and cowed, and when you're talking about 17 yo boys groping 16 yo girls.

Maybe it had something to do with dozens of accusers with independently verified and collaborated stories, compared to a single person with ambiguous and incomplete memories from 35 years ago.

Maybe those are important factors, did you consider them?

A Republican Yale drinking buddy of Kavanaugh's tells CNN he lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee

"I'll tell you, Chris, I watched the whole hearing, and a number of my Yale colleagues and I were extremely disappointed in Brett Kavanaugh's characterization of himself and the way that he evaded his excessive drinking question" and "was lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee today," Brookes said. "There is no doubt in my mind that while at Yale, he was a big partier, often drank to excess, and there had to be a number of nights where he does not remember."

"I'm not saying it's wrong that he drank, but if he's going to be the ultimate judge of truth in our society, a Supreme Court justice, and at 53 years old he's going to lie about what he did when he was 15, what else will he lie about?"
wow. Kav was in Yale when he was 15?

So why does an innocent man refuse to ask for an FBI investigation?

An investigation would further remove any doubt from Kavanaugh if the FBI stated he appeared to be innocent of the accusations. No sweat of his balls.
Because the delay would mean that there's a possibility that the Senate majority will flip and he won't be confirmed, effectively bringing his career to an end. The only people who doubt Kav's appointment had already made up their mind about him when Trump put forth the nomination.

Haven't been following this closely, but looks like a win/win for the Democrats at this point.

If Kavanaugh is tossed, obviously that's a huge blow to Trump.

If he gets in, they have the ammunition to attack the Republicans as the party that supports (alleged) sexual predators, especially after the Roy Moore situation.
Smartest thing you've said since........ who the fuck knows.

Not much on the ACA hearings. I wasn't a fan of the ACA. Not because I don't think American citizens should have health care, I just don't trust the government to run it. Plenty of blame to go around, but it proved to be an unsustainable program like I feared.

For Garland, I watched. The Republicans were every bit as embarrassing as the Dems are being now. Our Supreme Court is important, and letting a seat sit vacant for over a year was a joke.

How does Feinstein get elected? She's a fucking idiot - can't even follow a simple explanation. She sounds like a grandma asking how to work the remote control for the TV. I wouldn't let her lead a board meeting.

***

They passed it through the committee, moved it to the floor...contingent on a 1 week FBI investigation on the incident.

Investigate what? How do you investigate a house party over 30 years ago? It’s literally a he said / she said argument.

I agree.
But whatever.

Something else will come up and then we'll get the "that's not part of the scope" argument.

It's not over yet. The circus is still in session.

i think that we can all agree that it's a good thing the FBI has a such a solid reputation for non-partisanship in its investigations.

both Sandusky and Cosby were lifelong Democrats.
Um .. (R) stands for (R)apist.

Besides, all they have to do is declare allegiance to the Rapepublican party and they'll be scott free.

Is this a joke? Was this what the whole thing was like? You can go back to any weekend in my high school years and I was hanging with the same group of guys. Any person that knew me could randomly say, “Yea it was a party and he was with these guys drinking!”

Holy shit what a fucking hailmary.
Personally... I want him tossed after claiming that he was a virgin well after college AND because he's a creepy mofo that kept a calendar like that in high school and held onto it for some fucking reason. That's a pyschopath if I've ever heard of one.

I have a box in my attic from high school and the Army. I honestly have no clue what’s in it. Maybe he had something similar and the calendar was in there. No clue.

Creepy to have something to look back on later in life? Wow ok.
