Huge bust at a port of entry!US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has announced their largest ever seizure of the synthetic opioid drug fentanyl.
Agents on Saturday found 254 lbs (114kg) of fentanyl, as well as 395 lbs of methamphetamine in a lorry at an official US-Mexico border crossing.
A "false floor" was found in the produce truck, said Michael Humphries, who commands the Nogales checkpoint on the Arizona-Mexico border.
The lorry's Mexican driver has been arrested and charged with drug dealing.
$1.5 trillion U.S. tax cut has no major impact on business capex plans: survey"I didn't see the report from the intelligence," Trump said, before curiously adding, "When you read it, it is a lot different than what is covered in the news."
The Trump administration’s $1.5 trillion cut tax package appeared to have no major impact on businesses’ capital investment or hiring plans, according to a survey released a year after the biggest overhaul of the U.S. tax code in more than 30 years.
The National Association of Business Economics’ (NABE) quarterly business conditions poll published on Monday found that while some companies reported accelerating investments because of lower corporate taxes, 84 percent of respondents said they had not changed plans. That compares to 81 percent in the previous survey published in October.
The White House had predicted that the massive fiscal stimulus package, marked by the reduction in the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent, would boost business spending and job growth. The tax cuts came into effect in January 2018.
“A large majority of respondents, 84 percent, indicate that one year after its passage, the corporate tax reform has not caused their firms to change hiring or investment plans,” said NABE President Kevin Swift.
The lower tax rates, however, had an impact in the goods producing sector, with 50 percent of respondents from that sector reporting increased investments at their companies, and 20 percent saying they redirected hiring and investments to the United States from abroad.
The NABE survey also suggested a further slowdown in business spending after moderating sharply in the third quarter of 2018. The survey’s measure of capital spending fell in January to its lowest level since July 2017. Expectations for capital spending for the next three months also weakened.
“Fewer firms increased capital spending compared to the October survey responses, but the cutback appeared to be concentrated more in structures than in information and communication technology investments,” said Swift, who is also chief economist at the American Chemistry Council.
According to the survey, employment growth improved modestly in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the third quarter. Just over a third of respondents reported rising employment at their firms over the past three months, up from 31 percent in the October survey. The survey’s forward-looking measure of employment slipped to 25 in January from 29 in October.
Yep, and it’s why he’ll be re-elected. They just don’t get it.
I will give my opinion. Yes, both from an economic and security perspective. We spend $80+ billion tending to illegals. Invest $10 billion on a wall & start spending that $70 billion a year on American citizens, infrastructure, education, etc. They can come in legally, or not at all.Your not qualified to answer what your own opinion is?
Do you feel America is currently in a state of emergency in regards to the southern border?
Do you honestly think that will end all illegals in America?I will give my opinion. Yes, both from an economic and security perspective. We spend $80+ billion tending to illegals. Gusto you’ve pretty much gone off the deepend. Crazy to think what you’re arguing about and the things you post.
If you think I was being serious and that helps you sleep at night go for it lol. How about this, hang on tight because you have trump for the rest of this term to spite what you probably think the mueller probe will bring and another lovely victory probably against Kamala “free everything for everyone” Harris ) hahaha
Coming from the guy who just said a wall on the Canadian American border would be a good idea.
Soooo yes or no, you think America is currently in a state of national emergency? If you think I was being serious and that helps you sleep at night go for it lol. How about this, hang on tight because you have trump for the rest of this term to spite what you probably think the mueller probe will bring and another lovely victory probably against Kamala “free everything for everyone” Harris ) hahaha

I do. I think between the overall numbers across the board and for how long it’s been going on and how messed up the whole system is, this seems to have finally sparked the main debate on what to do to fix the immigration system. The wall is not all that is in the bill. The system is general needs an overhaul and it seems Trump is the only one to do anything about it. It’s not like this just started as you know. In fact Trump seems to be the only president doing anything about everything. NATO spending, economy, China, taxes, North Korea, Israel embassy, lowest umployment across the board, wages up, gas down nicely, more energy independent, and much more. Hate the guy or not, he works and is truly trying to make things better. He is fucking 24/7! Lol. It seems the guy never sleeps. He like is like Dana lol.Soooo yes or no, you think America is currently in a state of national emergency?
We all know how that match turned out.#NotmyKamala
Now we’re talkingThe best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
Migrants come in legally to ports of entry. That's why its called asylum. Derp!I will give my opinion. Yes, both from an economic and security perspective. We spend $80+ billion tending to illegals. The AVERAGE American commits THREE obscure felonies each day, without knowing it.
Embarrassing. This tard governs by tv talking points.

A former illegal immigrant who worked at President Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. as a housekeeper will attend the State of the Union address next week following the invitation from a California Democrat.
Rep. Jimmy Gomez invited Sandra Diaz, an employee of Trump's businesses between 2010 and 2013. The invitation came just days after a Democrat from New Jersey also invited an illegal immigrant who worked on the golf property for five years before she was fired.
“It’s no small feat for a migrant from Costa Rica to stand up to a bully and hypocrite in the White House,” Gomez said in a statement. “She is living proof that President Trump couldn't be more wrong — both morally and factually — when he demonizes those who come to America seeking a better life.”
Since leaving the job at the golf property, Diaz has become a legal resident of the U.S. Last year, she spoke out about her experience working for Trump and claims she took care of Trump’s personal residence and had even occasional interactions with him.
She told the New York Times that her supervisors knew she was illegally in the country and forced her to perform certain jobs that she didn’t want. They also allegedly abused her verbally and physically, and threatened her with the deportation.
UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS REPORTEDLY FIRED FROM TRUMP GOLF CLUB
“Apparently, the Trump Organization had no problem with hiring undocumented immigrants like Sandra to polish their golf clubs, serve them drinks, and make their beds. Treating these hardworking people with dignity, however, was clearly a bridge too far,” Gomez added in his statement.
Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a New Jersey Democrat, announced on Wednesday that she extended the invitation to the State of the Union address to Victorina Morales, a Guatemala-born woman who was fired from the golf property where she worked as a housekeeper for five years.
The woman, who’s an illegal immigrant, has since become an advocate for other illegal immigrants in the country. She recently spoke out in the media about the Trump Organization’s hiring practices.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) reportedly warned President Trump this week that declaring a national emergency to build his U.S.–Mexico border wall could create a rift in the GOP conference.
The Washington Post reported Friday that McConnell told Trump the Senate could pass a resolution disapproving the emergency declaration.
Republican sources familiar with the matter told the Post that the Senate leader and the president talked one-on-one Tuesday at the White House.
The reported meeting came amid heightened concerns that the president would declare a national emergency and deploy the military to build the border wall if Congress could not agree to allocate the funds Trump has demanded.
The White House did not immediately respond to an inquiry from The Hill. McConnell's office declined to comment to The Hill.
“I’m for whatever works, which means avoiding a shutdown and avoiding the president feeling he should declare a national emergency,” McConnell said Tuesday during his weekly news conference.
Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the No. 2 Senate Republican, said there is “not much appetite” for an emergency declaration; while Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), an adviser to McConnell, said lawmakers are trying to “dissuade” Trump and warned he could be challenged by Congress.
Trump raised the idea of calling an emergency Friday, saying “I think there’s a good chance we’ll have to do that.”
“We will be looking at a national emergency because I don’t think anything’s going to happen,” he added, suggesting he does not believe a bipartisan conference committee will agree on the $5.7 billion he says is necessary to build the wall. “I don’t think Democrats want border security.”
Congress has until Feb. 15 to reach a deal. If lawmakers can't reach a deal, the government will enter another partial shutdown.
According to the Post, at least six Republican senators are reportedly supportive of a disapproval resolution. The resolution would then have majority support in the Senate if all 47 Democrats signed onto the legislation. Trump would likely veto the resolution, the Post reported.
A middle-aged protester tried to disrupt a drag queen reading event at a public library in Houston, Texas, only to thoroughly embarrass himself.
James “Doc” Greene Sr. attempted to enter the Houston Public Library’s Freed-Montrose location, where he had previously been issued a trespassing warning for disrupting last month’s Drag Queen Storytime event, where he also filmed juveniles without permission.
Upon entering the library, employees requested police assistance to deal with Greene, who had a concealed carry permit and was armed. Officers, who had been monitoring a nearby protest against the Drag Queen event, responded quickly, at which point he launched into a lengthy verbal exchange with the responding officers.
“Do you not work for me? I’m a taxpayer,” Greene attempted to ask one of the library employees who handed him a trespassing warning. “I’m a taxpayer, I’m a taxpayer, I pay for this library…why am I trespassing? How am I trespassing? I want you to cite the law, cite the LAW, CITE THE LAW [sic].”
When officers attempt to explain to Greene that he was handed a trespassing warning, he continued with his verbal barrage, “What am I doing wrong? I pay for this property, these people work for me, I’m a taxpayer,” he said. “Does statute override Constitutional foundational law?” The entire incident was uploaded by Greene to YouTube under the apt description “Arrested for being a Christian.”
Greene was escorted outside where he continued to protest, saying that, “We have a bunch of homosexuals that are molesting children …They are doing it with your help.” According to a Houston Police spokesperson, he was then put in handcuffs and placed in a police vehicle, whereupon he started to complain of chest pains and paramedics were called to escort him to hospital. The Houston district attorney declined to press charges. Officers also temporarily confiscated his handgun.
The incident, which was first reported by OutSmart, occurred last Saturday. It began gaining mainstream attention on Thursday, however, when Drag Queen Regina Blake-DuBois, who was at the library, tweeted about the incident.
On his Facebook page, Greene maintained that he’d been “arrested for being a white Christian” and elaborated on how the police were “violating his first amendment rights on multiple levels” during a two-hour-long Facebook video. He also runs a conservative radio show and describes himself as a former member of the Texas Nationalist Movement.
While Greene’s actions might seem idiotic from afar, it is important to bear in mind how potentially terrifying the incident could have been for the parents, children, and drag queens involved, especially considering previous far-right mass shooters like Dylann Roof and Robert Gregory Bowers. This is also particularly true bearing in mind how often transgender people are targeted in acts of shocking brutality and violence. In 2017, at least 28 transgender people were murdered, the deadliest year on record, a level nearly matched in 2018.
The guy is an idiot but whats the point of saying that hes a Trump supporter. I could post the homicides and crime stats from any major city and then show that they overwhelming vote democratic. Also whats the point of mentioning that he was armed? Was he doing it illegally? Did he say that he was going to shoot someone there? Did he point it at anyone? Why not mention that he also had a set of car keys on him? Must also be tough form some here to say that there were cops there and (wait for it)...... did a great job.... oh the humanity!
