He lied under oath.
And I think he tried to convince Lewinsky to lie on an affidavit.
And tried to cover up the Paula Jones thing.

That's basically what it boiled down to. But it was really "Fuck that guy we don't like him".

Just like this shit with Trump is.
I agree with the motivation, but can't agree they were equal in offense. I think the Clinton investigation was much more of a "witch hunt" than Trump.

not all were pushing for impeachment for the same reasons.

I don't think that impeachment automatically removes a person from office, although that is a possible outcome of judgment.

"Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law."

It definitely doesn't. It's generally accepted that the person will be so embarrassed they'll leave with their tail between their legs. I think it's more than a little naive to think the Donald is going to observe that social norm.

thanks, that makes sense. I remember reading that an Impeachment was basically an indictment, and even if they brought criminal charges a sitting POTUS could just pardon himself.
