How much of other people's money do you feel entitled to?
It's the COMMON WEALTH and enough to balance out the wealth gap enough that the richest nation in history is much fairer

Why not $51mm?
Or $49mm?

I believe that's what he meant by arbitrary.
Because that amount of revenue in taxation would pay for all the needs and a lot of wants

To much money in one person's hands is very destructive

This country has a fascination with vilifying rich people. The fact is their success has little to do with other people's failures.

In 2018, the richest 1409 taxpayers paid more income tax than the bottom 70 million people.

That tells me 2 things.
  1. There are some rich ass motherfuckers out there.
  2. And it certainly looks like they are paying way more than their fair share.
I'm more concerned with how the government spends tax money than I am about who is contributing.
If we force the rich to pay even more money - that money will largely be pissed away on stupid bullshit or simply pocketed by politicians.

As is giving people money for doing absolutely nothing.

If we're talking about improving schools and creating a better, smarter workforce - I'm all ears.
Developing pathways for people to become self-sufficient members of society? Great.

But we need to fix the government before any of that shit is actually going to happen. Giving politicians more tax dollars to piss away solves absolutely nothing.

I'm always confused at why people seem so opposed to a flat tax rate.

Of course they pay more they have more but over time they are getting richer by using tax dodges/cuts

It's no secret that making money is easier when you have money - but they aren't getting richer simply because of tax cuts.
That's low hanging fruit for tax-the-rich political rhetoric.

Politicians want more money to play with so they point the finger at the people who have the money and make them out to be bad people.
They aren't bad people.
They're successful people.

Sure some of them were born on 3rd base in the baseball game of life - but whatever. Good for them. They were lucky enough to slide out of the right vagina on their birthday. It has zero impact on me and who I am. Focusing on life's imbalances isn't healthy. If people don't like their situation in life - they should work towards changing it.

Hauler, I've seen you post a lot of smart things on this forum, so do you want to think this post over and come back tomorrow to tell us why it might be a disaster?
