Unlikely because of the way it enters cells. We all have the entry protein. Theoretically we should all be able to catch it.
But things I don't know...
With normal cold viruses like Coronavirus, some people develop very strong post-infection immunity. They tend to not get common colds very often after they get them when they're younger. Other people do not generate this immunity.
Sooooo... If you're somebody who has generated heavy immunity to previous Coronavirus exposure, Will you get more mild symptoms from this one? Dunno.
Way too earlier to tell if we can find anything beyond age and health in general that leads to more mild disease. But that's definitely possible. But I doubt immunity naturally since we don't see that in other similar viruses.

I assume it is another case of media taking it out of context again. Trump gets briefed on the viruses on a regular basis about what it is going on from specialists concerning the virus. Key words he used is so called scientists..NIH conducts and funds basic and applied biomedical and behavioral research,CDC engages in health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. They are not up to date with this strand of corona virus. I will say it is clear that they are trying to reduce an all out panic that will ruin this economy. I am tired of people saying more people die from regular flu. We have never had this strand of corona virus to know how bad it is. There was a outbreak if it before but nothing this bad.. It is spreading fast..and serious enough that after work I an getting a shitload of food to store

I hope so. I've not been real comfortable with the showboating that seems to be going on by everybody in politics at the moment.
it's got to be a hard position. You don't want to cause panic but if you suppress too much and then the reality looks to not be what you're saying, panic will come.

I don't usually watch John Oliver, but my wife does. He had a segment on showing Vietnam's Coronavirus infomercial. It basically suggests wearing a mask when you're sick, washing your hands regularly, avoiding sick people and crowds.
That's exactly what we should be doing right now.
Where are my infomercials? I would like to see the government engaging something like pop stars to push that kind of messaging out on social media.

The crazy thing is they say masks do jack shit. Lots of doctors and scientists have gone on live tv stating this. They say it is a waste of money. The way politicians are using this virus for political points is sickening. That is why I said what I said. They claimed trump said the actual virus was a hoax. Anyone with a brain knows what he meant

It's bad resource allocation for well patients. we don't usually wear mask in this country so we see everybody and other countries doing it for different reasons and don't really know why they're doing it.
All those surgical masks? if you are well they are wet inside of an hour or so. you didn't adjust them and touch your face and that can spread disease.

But that's not true for sick patients. Put a mask on sick people always. Not just for this virus. It's still doesn't really help if you touch the mask or whatever. But it does help stop the spread of respiratory droplets from the sick person onto a larger surrounding area. this is really important on things like public transport or airplanes where you can spread respiratory droplets 6 or 10 ft with a good sneeze that's uncovered.

If you extrapolate that to current totals, something like 33,360 total deaths in the US.

But the media has everyone in a tizzy over 2 US coronavirus deaths. TWO.

The media should be ashamed of themselves. They should be preaching best practices and truth. Not causing panic.
