"People should not be freaked out and panicked" over the stock market amid the coronavirus outbreak, Moore, an economist at the conservative Heritage Foundation, said on John Catsimatidis’s radio show Sunday morning.

"People oftentimes make the mistake of ... following the herd, and sometimes they follow the herd right over the cliff," he added.

Why You Don’t Need to Panic About the New Coronavirus

The new coronavirus continues to spreadTrusted Source with more than 24,000 cases in China and nearly 200 cases reported in other countries.

The outbreak is serious, but if you’re living in the United States, the odds are that the everyday flu is a much more serious risk to your health.

At this point, the seasonal flu carries much greater odds of killing you while in the United States than the novel coronavirus recently identified in Wuhan, China.

“So far this season in the U.S. [there’s been] a mortality rate from flu-like illnesses and pneumonia of around 7 percent,” Charles C. Bailey, MD, infectious disease specialist with St. Joseph Hospital, told Healthline.

“This should be compared to the 11 cases so far documented for 2019-coronavirus with no deaths,” he said. “Clearly if there’s no panic concerning the current flu season which is a fairly normal one, panic over domestic 2019-coronavirus situation doesn’t seem justified at present.”

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source, flu caused about 60,000 American fatalities between 2017 and 2018.

Delivered 5000 packages.
Those recipients opened them in front of their families, who went to work & school
In the world of rapid Amazon delivery there is a chance of spread but that is really unlikely for anything that goes overnight. This is actually been studied for Coronaviruses and other viruses.

Even the scenario in which something is delivered same day in a few hours still requires the right surface and respiratory droplets to land on it. Virus is incredibly fragile.

Only possible transmission... He coughs respiratory droplets into a same-day package that will be delivered inside of about 8 hours. Same day package must have a hard non-permeable surface. Non-permeable surface does not get bounced around against packing material or The cardboard box itself.

Person or the other end opens the box immediately reaches in grabs the item gets respiratory droplets on their hands and then touches their face.

If that happens you could transmit the virus via Amazon packages.

Any other surface or any other timeline and the virus is dead. Unless there's something new we learn.

So, sick since 25th, had it for hmm....let's say 2 weeks.
Delivered 5000 packages.
Those recipients opened them in front of their families, who went to work & school.

Some items were probably safety oriented, possibly re-sold.
It doesn't matter.

The PNW is 3 weeks from lockdowns.
It is a downtown Seattle Amazon employee. The warehouse is in Renton. This was very likely a software developer that has delivered zero packages ever.

Given that Amazon pays it software developers a living wage and they get bathroom breaks, I would argue that the percentage chance of transmission is much higher in this case than if it was a warehouse worker who would probably just die on the warehouse floor as automated robots sweep him into a ditch.

Hence my reason for not wanting to go downtown. I'll chill with the homies in Renton all day every day.

Instead of spending time googling panic, why don't you learn something and watch one of the videos posted?
He's a pathogen expert...
If you had done this when the thread was created, and watched 1/5th of the videos, you wouldn't be spamming panic nonsense.

You literally tried to make a bet with me a week ago.
Since then 9 people have died within 10 miles of my house, and 130 people confirmed.

Would you like to make a bet yet, since you offered?
Maybe one that's feasibly attained, taking into account testi g kit availability?
Perhaps a one-month bet?

$100

In 1 month over 2000 confirmed cases

Fair enough?

If the hype is all a hoax, why is the Trump administration spending so much time and money on press conferences and round tables to address the issue?

$7,500,000,000 being allocated... sounds like a hoax.

Anyone else think this "COVID-19" could've already been here, and U.S. doctors just didn't catch it?

If they weren't testing for it then why not. But it begs the question of what's triggered it.

If the corona virus was as bad as everyone is making it out to be, then your post would ring true.

However, for me, using my life experience and the logic I've gathered in it, I truly don't think we'll see more than 500 US deaths and strongly feel that # will be significantly less.

But how exciting would that above sentence be for news media outlets though?
Along with everyone else on earth, this guy disagrees with you.
