Dead cat bounce is just a phrase referring to a falling stock that looks like it might have hit a bottom. People buying in or covering short positions causes a quick gain, but it often continues falling again after a short while.
If you were so inclined to throw a dead cat off a building, when it hits the concrete it will bounce a bit, but that doesn't mean there is any life to it.

That's not accurate. You're describing some of the early reagents for ELISA testing. There are very sensitive tests right now.
