I'm watching Cuomo's briefing. After seeing so many Trump press conferences, Cuomo is reminding me what it's like to listen to a literate, adult leader. Not bad for a yankee.

NOLA respiratory therapist on the state of things in La. Don't worry, everything will be back to normal in two weeks.

Louisiana has a remarkably high number of cases and I'm not sure why that is. They also have a high mortality suggesting either local population susceptibility or that the real number is much higher and they're still missing even more cases which is scary.
They have a high smoking and high obesity rate and that's all that jumps out at me up front.

i read a report out of Italy that hypertension is the leading corollary of fatality. La looks pretty low, but bordering states Arkansas and Mississippi are some of the highest in the US.

So is New York.

Just did some googling, Italy is saying 99% of fatalities had preexisting conditions. 25% had 2 other conditions and almost 50% had 3 or more conditions.

but that's only from a sample size of 17% of fatalities... FWIW

75% had hypertension, IIRC.

on the other hand, 'recovered' can mean 'living with 50% lung capacity for the rest of your life'

Goooood daaaaaamn, they're closing Waffle Houses..... 365 of them..... Out of concern for public health and safety, from Coronavirus.

Waffle House.... Where food poisoning, salmonella, botulism, and drunken Kid Rock are all acceptable, but Corona is just too far

Once again the American people have proven that they have more resolve then the politicians and CEOs. Very sad that they are already pushing back on the one thing we know can save lives because they want they're precious economy and profits not to suffer.

Unless I was misreading the data from March 17 it appeared to cover at least a couple thousand deaths. That seems like more than 17%

Headed to work. 5hours only. Not because of Covid19 but because someone died at work.
The Finney County Sheriff’s Office said an employee at the Tyson plant was killed early Monday.

Deputies responded to the plant for a man not breathing. EMS transported the man, identified as 30-year-old Kendrick Gregory of Garden City, to the hospital where he died.

The Finney County Sheriff’s Office said their initial investigation showed that Gregory was doing maintenance on the harvest assembly line when he was pulled up by harness against a takeaway belt. Another co-worker was able to cut him free.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is continuing.
That investigation lasted a day.
Keep your mind on your task bro. All this can be very distracting.
