Splinty @Splinty

You called new Orleans as being a ground zero about 6 days ago.

Looks like you are sadly being called right.

With respect. Why did you know this before the federal government did and it hasn't acted?

Is there a breakdown in diagnosis and infrastructure?

feds know this.
Then Louisiana itself has been abnormally high for its testing number since day one. So there's been a tone of hidden cases in the state for a while.
For NOLA, scientists have been highlighting the doubling rate. So it doesn't matter that they are so far behind NYC in absolute number. It's that they have a high per capita number that is double at the same rate as the urban coasts. And New Orleans doesn't have the resources NYC and the Bay area have.

Put it altogether and you have future predicting.

There are a couple of places here that are running with that "one mask per person per day" rule which is absolutely insane. I understand it in principle but not in practice. Hell, you know the standards normally say that you can't even take it down and have one hanging around your neck at any point in time but now you're supposed to keep and use the same one all day. Pretty wild.

But ultimately, and I’m not being political here.

the experts were ignored?

over here we are clearly On a knife edge. Difference with us we are tiny in land mass.

why weren’t a high concentration of doctors, nurses and resources flooded in? South Korean and German like?

you were convinced this would happen. Top people must have known too.

it must be lack of resources or poor planning?

I have theories how we can counter inevitable surges going forward. But we must deal with this first.

feds defer to states who are deferring to counties (parishes in this case) with local incentives overriding health policy as the final determiner. The US is a republic of states and the Governors are leading the charge while the feds are supporting from behind.

Christ.

you’ve taken our system and tried to make it work Over an area 50 times our land mass,

it’s not going to work in such a scenario
