I don't think anyone got mad bro. Not me at least. We've had our back and forth's on here.

I didn’t get that impression from you Yosser.

I get you have a standpoint. I disagree. But I see where you are coming from. Imo it is dependent on mass, mass testing.

but at no point do I think you are mashing your keyboard.

Unlike our friend.

is he from Alabama?

My standpoint is based on the lack of mass testing. And the fact that lockdown here may end without having anything achieved.

Sure as fuck wishing I wasn't renting in Silicon Valley ridiculous pricing considering I have no household income right now. Such a wake up.
It's a stark realization unfortunately, and I hope you and your husband can sort it out. I've just noticed a division occuring where some people are saying "Wow, this is why my parents were so cheap and always telling me to save my money. When I come out the other side I'm going to be more responsible." other people though seem to think this is everyone else's fault and that they hold no level of responsibilty. One of Mrs Beard's friends is all "I shouldn't have to pay my rent, I can't work!" Her rent is 25% more than my mortgage and she makes half of what I do. I'm not a mathematician, but it doesn't take long to figure out what the problem here is.

if all people should wear a mask, it helps more than it doesn’t.

If worn properly, mask actually prevents from people touching the face, literally and physically. It’ll remind some people when they have a itchy nose when they try to touch their face, instead touch their mask, “oh! Not supposed to touch my mask. Thanks mask!”

the whole touching of the face and that is dangerous notion comes from your hands being contaminated by touching a surface, then you carry that contamination from your hands to the area near your mouth, (into the mouth) is preventable if you have a mask on, because mask stands as a barrier. Thanks mask!

the notion of “...but your eyes are still exposed, the respiratory droplets could get in through your eyes!” If everyone is wearing a mask, there are no droplets to worry about in the first place. They won’t get to any surface, they’ll all stay inside of an individual’s mask. Thanks mask!

if people have masks, should wear it when they go to a area where you’d be in close quarters with others. The asymptomatic folks are carrying the disease, bit risky to trying to see who looks sick and trying to stay away from them only.

common sense! Government should pump some money into companies who can make masks and should hand those out like the stimulus checks.

No one owes us anything, we willingly moved here to live the Californian dream. He has filed for unemployment, he's paid a fuckload in taxes since we moved to the US 6 years ago so he definitely deserves that, but we're not not going to pay our rent. I'm feeling a lot better so I'll try at working at Safeway/Rite Aid etc when the last of my cough has hopefully finished.

I own properties
I am not a parasite...I just feel property is a safer place for my money than the stock market

If everybody wanted their money from the stock market nobody would get their money from the stock market

At least a property is a roof and a place to take a shit
Parasite is not a moral judgement, but an economic one.

If everybody was a property owner trying to extract wealth from renters, then nobody would own a rental property so the stock market equation still applies. And if your only interest in property is as an idle store of value, then it might be a strategically wiser decision, but is functionally no different from speculating on the financial asset markets. In fact, the only main difference is that financial speculation can at least sometimes be victimless (you can just outwit some other speculators and take their money, like voluntary gambling), while property speculation hurts unwilling participants.

You'll seldom find me unhappy about somebody criticizing hospital administrators.
The good ones are few and far between.
As density of cases rise, increase protections become prudent.
There's no reason for me to walk around in a PAPR like my ED colleagues and I Don't likely need an n95 to go about my duties with my obstetric patients. If anesthesia or the ED is using these items and wish to leave them in place to avoid the risk of taking them on and off go right ahead.

On the other hand I am increasingly concerned that most likely I will get infected from a nurse or other chain, not direct patient care where I am most aware of my precaution needs.
I'm also increasingly concerned about my own asymptomatic spreading As our local density of cases increases and the hospital inevitably becomes the focal point of infection.

I am 100% masked in all patient care at this point with surgical mask. Not for me to avoid getting sick from these patients as much for me to not be a spread of infection to my patients.
Because masking and unmasking requires a technique, l leave my mask in place the entire time that I'm in the hospital.

I watched my own behavior today as I went around the hospital, stopping to use a telephone to dictate, using a computer, etc.

How clean are these workstations? The doctor's computers are in the nursing area pod. When was the same telephone wipe down recently? when will we have our first missed case that ends up positive on the floor unexpectedly?

I dump my hospital mask after use. I put a new one on for clinic. I use an n95 with proper PPE for higher risk patients, but there is no intentional caronavirus evaluation in the outpatient setting right now. If you called me and sounded like a covid You're staying home for mild symptoms or you're going to the ED for evaluation. They've got the right gear.

We're not off in a bad way at our hospital right now. But I am seeing many of my colleagues being asked to perform care with substandard protection At other institutions around the country. The ED and anesthesia stand out to me is the absolute highest risk and should be provided whatever they need. Those health care workers that are in high risk groups by age or comorbidity should absolutely have the flexibility to be better protected.
Overall I am most concerned about the lack of standard guidance and response. The institutional and geographic variation in American medicine is showing itself in this response as well and it's not comforting to me.

financial speculation is far from victimless

lol the tiptoeing

Current rogan straddles the fence so damn hard

he makes good points, but he also still casts shade upon those who have predicted the reaction and implementation of control measures

Good post though, it was a good listen

I don’t know why people are against it. Even if I play devil’s advocate, I just don’t see how it is not helpful to wear a mask.

ppl are complaining about the wrong information provided by the Government or that information they get is little too late, why don’t they just go by their own gut feeling instead of just following what they say.

Maybe the answer is to issue everyone with a Deborah Birx $600 Hermes scarf everyday?

she’s gone from wearing an anorak to being more dolled up than Le Chat Noir @Le Chat Noir getting ready to visit his grandmother.

It’s expensive so it must work right?
It's funny you mention this as I just got a new Brunello Cucinelli scarf with a cashmere/silk blend,
it breaths much better than the Burberry.
