maybe I am but mainly because of my life experience. I came from South Korea, if you look at their last century's history, they've been invaded by imperial Japanese, used as pawns during the Cold War (US vs USSR), countless military coup d'etat, police state, and now is the only place in the world where it's divided between North and South where it's mandatory for all citizens to serve in the military once they turn 18 all because they didn't have 2nd A.
not sure exactly when you lived there but maybe the experience you had living in those countries wasn't a time when they're lack of 2nd amendment was tested.
Ukrainians demand their own "Second Amendment" after government massacre in Kiev – Bearing Arms – Right to Bear Arms
and same thing could be said about Germany, the Jews that lived in Germany during 1930s most likely have different thoughts about 2nd Amendment than you.
better roads is great and free medical care is great but those don't mean anything once there is a tyrannical government trying to take your rights away and oppress you
like I said, it's really hard to feel the need for 2nd A for average Americans. when was the last time we had a Government trying to oppress us? back in 1775?
we don't know the importance of something until it's gone, but in America, we still have it. so people take it for granted
