Don't quote me on the article because I'll get told off but a plane landed at Standstead in London with 180 Ukranians willing to work bwcause UK people turned their noses up at it.

There's this big thing going around right now that people in the west are too lazy to do farm work. When in reality the pay just isn't enough to entice western workers when there is easier work stacking shelves or menial office work for similar or higher wages. Why people from eastern europe or other places are willing to do it is because the pay is triple or higher than the average wage in their country. If you offered triple the average wage to pick fruit to western workers they will gladly do it.

Neoliberalism has set up this system where they have depressed wages in the west to gleam off more profits. To achieve this they have to keep the price of goods low, and that requires outsourcing and importation of cheap labour. Without the depression of wages people could easily afford what it would cost to buy fruit et al at the price that would be required to pay western workers to pick the fruit, but that would mean less profit for the Jeff Bezos' of the world.

Big news out of Texas, we are starting to flatten the curve, its what the experts are saying, and at this current pace they do not believe hospitals will be critically over run like in the Dem trash heaps of the North East and California.

The hits keep on coming, looks like Texas, the greatest country in the world, is about to be much healthier in terms of Covid-19.
If the study holds true.

New study says 'high temperature and high relative humidity significantly reduce' spread of COVID-19
I linked a few of those earlier in this thread.
Whatever our crusty Australians current screen name is linked me back to a group that did data analysis on quite a few of these and suggested that the evidence is weak and a bit contradictory. As such it is possible that really hot areas like Texas New Mexico and Arizona could see a decrease spread, but the evidence is so weak that they argue against making policy on it in any fashion.

Interesting, I guess it makes sense because they were looking at Chiiiiiiii-NUH numbers.

It seems that in a lab and small studies you decrease transmission. But it also seems that herd immunity is so low that it doesn't take much for the virus to keep moving through an uninfected population.
Multiple variables pushing increased transmission up and others pushing it down. I suspect the heat might be a larger factor in areas that already have slow spread. Then the heat represents a larger variable and proportion to things pushing transmission forward. But if you hold a concert in July you're probably going to see spread throughout that crowd. We will see. It'll be funny if it really does slow down dramatically in Texas. Unfortunately We would then have to share that limelight with Florida and I think I'd rather die from Coronavirus.

I dont see the big knock on Florida, it's given us great, world changing individuals such as @conor mcgregor nut hugger and Kimbo Slice. The former of which is a national freaking treasure.

Per capita, California and Texas have a similar number of cases. Texas doing a little better, but only marginally. Texas also has way less disadvantages than California. It should be doing way better and it barely is at all.

And Texas is only doing well relative to the US, which is a backwards shithole of a country. Texas has more than double the cases of Australia (nearly equivalent population) and nearly double Japan, which has more than 4x the population.

I'm not sure why you are so angry, but I hope you have a better day.
