Lol. This is something I've thought about before. Work with a guy who was discharged from the Airforce bootcamp for some kind of heart condition. Great guy. And then there are guys who are dumb as rocks and get that Lowes discount because they barely passed the ASVAB and the Navy let them paint the boat or cook omelets.

Chick who got me to sign up had bailed the day before passing out of basic. She wanted me to have a shot because it always grated her that she was almost IN the Navy.
If I had signed up and given my all,.but ultimately got kicked out, I'd have no problem saying that. I wouldn't go around calling myself a veteran for sure
