I actually used the iNaturalist app. It's also how I identified Grateful Dude @Grateful Dude's caterpillar. It's available for both iPhone and Android.

An app is software for a smart phone that you download from the App Store (if iPhone) or Google Play store (if Android).

Ask your grandson to help you.
I wanted to rate this winner, informative and funny.
Settled on funny.

I looked up some pics earlier, and I think Black Swallowtail was correct for that caterpillar. If not, something very similar.

Oh man... I just saw this bird that was tweeting so hard (not on twitter but that would be awesome). It was obviously a real homie cuz he was fresh out of fucks to give. He was spitting rhymes and flew off.

I wish I got a picture. It was mostly black but had some orange and I think blue. Maybe green. It was small like a chickadee.

His name is and forever will be Fri’Chickeniqua.

What is that? Looks like a mini walrus.

Give it a name.
I named him Fred this morning. I think it's a horned lizard, let me look.

Ya looks to be a horned lizard, not sure specifically what kind, I need to get a better look at him.

i think it’s a Texas spiny lizard
I thought so as well but it doesn't have the big spikes the Texas ones have, and from what I read there are a few different kinds. I'll try to get a better look at him.

Just based on coloration and pattern I'd say it's a Texas spiny lizard as well

From the app I was telling grandpa Hauler @Hauler about (iNaturalist)

ThatOneDude @ThatOneDude in all seriousness people upload shit to the app sometimes though lol. May be worth trying. If you can narrow it down to even "bird" it will help fellow scientists in your area with identification
