Hey Doc, can you tell me if the below seems normal?

We have now had 17 known cases (but it is assumed more) outside the facilities linked to a cluster of infections at a quarantine facility outside the facility. The high rate of infections within the facilities is almost certainly from internal spread too.

They are putting returned overseas travellers in hotel 'quarantine' (almost all in Melbourne for some baffling reason, even though Sydney is the major national airport hub). And then they are hiring security companies - like the dipshit companies that supply club bouncers - giving them a couple of hours of hygiene training and telling them to man quarantine facilities.

Then they are telling these guards they don't have enough PPE, so to reuse gloves and masks. This is in May and we haven't been hit hard at all, so we should have more PPE than we know what to do with. And I would have assumed a QUARANTINE FACILITY would be fairly high up on the places you prioritize for PPE, but perhaps that is my ignorance.

So, then they forget to tell the guards not to let positive people - in quarantine, I again must stress - to leave the facility for walks.

So Sanjay, Abdul and Tran Nguyen, whose grasp of the English language is tenuous and who are only qualified to guard parking lots, are walking around this quarantine facilities in re-used PPE and freely interacting with confirmed positive cases, taking them out for walks and searching through their stuff.

And the best part is when the health authorities were asked 'what in the utter fuck is going on?' the response from health authorities seriously amounted to 'what? It's not our fault, blame the random security company we hired to man a QUARANTINE FACILITY (emphasis added)'.

Because #springbreakislife
This is actually inaccurate. Way more have already died than died in 'combat' in WW1. 53,000 US soldiers died in combat in WW1. More Australian troops (62,000) and Canadian troops (57,000) died in combat than American soldiers, despite having fractions of the US population, because the US was so late to the party.

There reason there were 70,000 or so extra listed US casualties - Spanish Flu. So it's probably not the best comparison, because it actually shows how much more fucked Spanish Flu was because it was wiping out so many healthy young people.

I posted this in the think tank thread but it probably belongs here.

Regarding the Dems wanting to EXTEND the CARES act for the rest of the year:

***

They need to cancel the benefits, not extend them.

I had a worker quit. He filed for unemployment. I disputed it. He got it anyway - which I will appeal because fuck him.

His take if (when) my appeal fails : $480 / week standard unemployment rate plus an additional $600 / week from the CARES act.

$1080 / week for QUITING HIS JOB.

I'm looking to hire 6 different positions. Over the last 2 weeks I've scheduled 14 interviews. 10 were no shows. Of the 4 that showed, 3 were offered jobs. 1 showed up.

This is the problem with allowing the Democrats to dictate stimulus. They want to keep the people sucking on that government tit, and right now that's exactly what they've accomplished.

And they want to extend this bullshit? Fuck that.

In order for America to get back to work - there has to be an incentive for people to get back to work. If I have to increase my rates 50% to get people off their fucking couch, it all rolls downhill. I'm passing that shit on to the end user.

Inflation 101. Something the libs can never quite get their fucking minds around.

Idiots.

/end rant

It should be public knowledge since it was the public's money.

They could have paid every American household 33k for the money they gave the corporations.

CompletEly unaccountable money too.

Thats what would piss me off.

People will go back to work. If only to finance yet another corporate bail out.

Corporations needed assistance. No issue with that. We need to have jobs for people to work at.

But yeah - no reason for it to be a secret. Unless they're playing hide the weenie which I'm sure they are.

It would have also been nice if those mystery businesses got the 350 and the small business "ppp loans" got the 500... But that's just one more thing to nitpick.

I'd take all the "free" shares they want to give me.

It's funny because it says he doesn't have to pay any of that.
Yeah, I know. I enjoy how you're so dumb that you thought this was a 'gotcha'. The hilarious part is that the US pays double per capita of any other advanced nation for healthcare because of gouging like this.

But if you don't think ridiculous bills like these don't impact people when the government doesn't pick up the tab too, then you must not read. Medical bankruptcies are not really a thing in the rest of the world.

There's a reason why people come from all over the world to have medical procedures here. I don't give a shit about paying for care, because it's better than any government run care I've ever received.
