Reform like this is good. But again, I do not understand how defunding will do anything good. More funds would be more logical. We've defunded education and look what we have. Underpaid teachers that don't give a damn. Poorly educated youth, which could be linked to crime, etc.

I think it's been shown that "defunding" isn't what it's being portrayed to be.
I prefer the term "repeal and replace" myself, but that might upset some people.

Off the top of my head I believe 'defund' means lessen the burden on police so they don't have to be counselor, paramedic, and lawyer, court employee, federal agent and local law enforcement all-in-one. That way they focus on one thing.

Here's a department where complete repeal & replace/reboot seems to have worked worked rather well at focusing on that one thing:




If they can reform their systemic problem, it can be done elsewhere.
