I was joking with my friend the other day that someone should start selling masks as respiratory aids. Athletes have long used masks to restrict air flow so that their lungs become more efficient with less oxygen and increasing cardio.
Sell ads on Fox News suggesting that buying and wearing masks will make you healthier, help increase blood flow, increase cardio, and turn you into a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus!

Acosta is a real piece of shit attention-whore, and he definitely pulled this out of context to make it appear as though the Trump admin was anit-science. Don't get me wrong, this administration is just like the rest, but not so much anti-science as pro-staying-in-power.
That being said, this is equally a case of the White House cherry-picking a study that didn't address the very real concerns that teachers and administrators have, which is "hey buddy I ain't a f*ckin kid this shit might kill ME". I was in small church cemetery at my grandma's grave last week, and I looked around and saw headstones from several of my elementary school teachers. People don't understand just how difficult it is to find someone who's willing to teach in a community for their entire lives. A few deaths or disabilities in those small school districts, especially those where the community doesn't have access to distance-learning options, would be absolutely devastating to the district.
So the admin is getting beat up for the wrong reason, even though they should be getting curb-stomped over their school "plan" that they've had 6 months to pull together.

Broward County is now under nightly curfew to combat the coronavirus.
The curfew is in place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.
