In Canada it's been an issue of healthcare workers ignoring the in place protocols. This isn't a resource issue.

You are correct. All it takes is one guy who works in a meat factory to be married to a nurse who gets it, and everyone is fucked. And we've seen that happen here. There has been nothing even done to identify household members of health care who both work in high-risk occupations themselves.

There are relatively simple solutions to combating coronavirus properly. The Chinese showed us the way. You just need to be prepared to do things that we aren't prepared to do.

Healthcare workers comprise a significant portion of the population. Setting up some mass quarantine system for them isn't exactly easy. You are accepting a highly authoritarian role for the government in doing something like that.
And if you are willing to do that, it means you are willing to fundamentally transform the role of government in society and to curtail individual freedoms to an extent far beyond what we are currently doing.
Being against mask orders and being for mass enforced quarantine and separation from families of healthcare workers is the most idiotically inconsistent thing I have ever heard.
And the point about China is that if we are willing to go full authoritarian socialist with such measures as mandatory quarantine for healthcare workers, there's lots of other multi-pronged interventions we could do that would actually work. Because trying to do the healthcare quarantine system in isolation without other interventionist measures too would be fucking retarded.

Very easy. Hotels have been largely abandoned for the duration of this outbreak. The government is giving them money to subsidize their lack of income, might as well make them earn it.

No, my posts make perfect sense because I am talking to a muppet who usually bangs on about government overreach. If you have changed your mind and want to go full authoritarian communist on coronavirus, then we are in agreement. But the point is, if we do that, there's no need to stop at just healthcare workers. We can go full Orwellian nightmare for a couple of months and actually getting on top of the virus, thus saving ourselves so much economic and social pain in the long-term. We - being the Anglo countries with the important exception of New Zealand - should have taken far more drastic measures far earlier, but even more drastic measures are required now.
