Leigh took Dan's online soul lol

I like Dan. he might have overstepped the mark in terms of his contract. but the crowd would have done that bit for him usually. can't expect him to sit on his hands and introduce sponsors.

the guy had a killer over him and he didn't move. he seemed fucked. who knows, but i back Dan.

Again, it was still a 'bad' stoppage in the sense that a more perceptive ref would have seen that the guy was out. But this reasoning is still somewhat sound and it why it wasn't the terrible stoppage Hardy tried to make it out to be.

KOd dude was a victim of his own instinctive reactions. He looked like he was defending himself when he wasn't. Can't go too hard on Herb for unfortunate circumstances.

I agree Herb is getting too much flack for this stoppage. People seem to forget that the ref only has one perspective, and a very small window of opportunity to make the right call.

Herb did an interview:
Interesting pov from Herb. People yell stop the fight all the time. Joe Silva has a famous moment where he's screaming it. But I guess no fans means you can hear everything so everyone has to be on their best behavior. Probably something the UFC should make a formal policy around, but seems they're still making it up as they go.

Jai Herbert is also from England, same as Hardy. Are they friends or trained together? My guess is Hardy let his friendship effect his reaction and if it was stopped earlier he would have complained about that also.

Well someone needs to provide cliffs
I flicked it on while getting ready to go out yesterday.. watched like the first 7 mins and gave up on the idea of going anywhere, no chance.

his main argument is that refs should be accountable to peers for decisions, and take onboard any points that need sorting.

he goes into detail explaining why Jai was out. including a fair bit of time on a 'fencing position' I think it was, ways of moving which signify brain trauma.

he said it wasn't personal, but then he dug up several videos that made Herb appear quite the cunt, dissecting the failings with an array of precision tools.

in relation to stoppages near the end of the round, Dan showed the end of a boxing match. one guy was winning on all cards but got knocked down hard, with 2 seconds left. ref called the fight off, was criticised but ref explained, if the guy is out, he is out no matter at what time in the fight.

basically refs must do all that they can to learn how best to preserve fighter safety.

I read about a time Forrest Griffin refd a fight drunk. Guy was out cold and getting beat to death and he kept telling him to defend himself. Ha.

Marc Goddard is the best ref imo. Or Yosemite Sam.
